I need to find a way to run Crysis on my computer. I don't know all that much about computers, and I have about 900$ to spend.

Help Please!

First off, are you building a new computer or are you upgrading?

If you're upgrading, list your specs, and whether you have an AGP, PCI, or PCI-E slot.

If you want the DX10 effects, you'll need a 8000 series Nvidia Video Card, or an ATI equivalent card.

I guess you didn't read my post>_>

I know shit about computers. I know I have a Alien Ware computer. It came standard, but with a better graphics card. I'll type whats on the box:

1) AMD Athion 64 x2 Processor 4000+
2) 1 GB Duel Chennal Memory
3) 320 GB SATA ll
4) 7200 RPM with 8 MB Cache

That's all i can give you: SORRY!

P.S. I'm looking to update my computer aerozero.

You should just install it and tweak the settings. I dunno much about AMD processors but you should be fine if the computer is only 2-3 years old.

If it really runs like crap, try to figure out whether you have an AGP or PCI-E slot (probably the latter), and get a new video card.

Installing the card is pretty easy, I'm sure there's a tutorial somewhere on the internet.

Thanks aerozero. Just one last question: What's the best one I can buy with 900$?

I'm sorry to say this Rasler, but you must have windows Vista to install directX 10, in addition with a super power graphic card. But you don't have to buy a whole new computer to play it. D.I.Y it.

Hmm, this game really need a LOT of stuffs to make it play, or else it will make the game stucked a lot, which is pretty annoying, and the worst of all, hang.

You can play this game with DirectX 9, but still, you won't get some of the game physics, (destroying stuffs, shades, KABOOOM!, and most importantly, the environment)

I think you might have to check your processor to evade problems while playing the game, because the game need at least 2.8 Gh.z or faster, (Dual core should kick this or Pentium D) Not sure about your processor though...

Hard disk is way to much, which is good.... 12 gig is nothing to your hard disk...

Also check your memory, or RAM (Random-Access-Memory) This game need about 1 GB of RAM, but I think the higher, the better.

Also, as what I said before, a BRAND NEW 256MB videocard that supports directX10 (All of them supports it, duh!)

Things that I think you might want to buy, depending on your computer....

VIDEOCARD, first priority.
RAM, depending on your current RAM, a piece of 1GB RAM should do it....
Soundcard, optional.

Just crosses your finger that your current processor can bring this game up with all of those stuffs..... This game really choke our necks up. I won't dare to do this until heh, I'm working...

My computer? Nah, it could only play COD 2, after that, it's finished...... (Bought it when C and C: Generals was on the it's hey day...)

Hope that helps you....

I forgot to mention that you need Vista.

Here's a list of 8000 series cards:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....eForce+8+series

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU FIND OUT THE TYPE OF SLOT YOUR MOTHERBOARD HAS (AGP, PCI-E, etc.), otherwise you might buy a card that won't work on your computer. Also you have to make your power supply meets the requirements of the video card, otherwise your computer could explode.

The best one I guess, would be the most expensive one on there. In my opinion, spending hundreds of dollars on a card just to play one game isn't worth it.

Wait a couple of years and prices will go down, and you can build a better computer and get a kickass video card.

The video cards I linked to, are PCI-E. So don't buy those.

Buy some extra fans if you want to make your computer a 'super' one. Well, over-clocking?

It's good to combine two powerful cards together (forget the name term already) added with powerful processor, high memory and hard disk drive, that should make your computer for the gamers one for a few more years...

You need to make sure your Power Supply (the amount of voltage) can handle the card you want to buy, make sure you check everything.

Ok. I just sent my desktop to the manufacture for the upgrade. I had to send 1295.96$ along with it for the costs. The guy I talked to said he knew the game's recommened software and/or hardware.

Lets hope for the best!

Thanks again you guy for your help ^__^

Betting twenty dollars that when you start up your upgraded desktop, it'll cause a power failure.
