Okay so I've had my PS3 for a year now and I'm a big JRPG fan I already have
Final Fantasy XIII (Loved it dont see why fans didnt like it too much)
Star Ocean The Last Hope International (Just Finished the story yesterday, the game was torture T_T)
Disgaea 3 (Currently in the last few battles of the game)
Valkyria Chronicles (Started a few weeks ago)

I'm also waiting for
Persona 5 (we know its coming just announce it Persona team)
Final Fantasy Versus XIII (Hopefully in this lifetime)
Tales of Graces F LOCALIZED (*thumbs crossed* I think we have a good shot seeing as we didnt get the original Graces)

I was wondering if there are any JRPG's you guys would recommend that I play. I'm not in a position to import so please don't suggest Tales of Vesperia I already beat it on my Xbox 360 which sadly got the the 3 red rings last night :(. Also please suggest PSP JRPG's. I already have Persona 3 Portable, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, and Revelations Persona.

Resonance of Fate

For PSP, the Disgaeas, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Valkyrie Profile. I'll post more if I think of any.

You can get Eternal Sonata from Amazon for about $16 new.

Also I recommend Resonance of Fate.

I play Riviera for two reasons: IPB Image IPB Image

IIRC, credits go to Feral Phoenix for Fiaa's icon and ChefMKT for the Lyuri scan.

You could try out Blazing Souls Accelate for the PSP, but this is coming from a guy who loved Cross Edge.

Lol Chris I loved cross edge too its just that the random encounter thing and the whole soul searching really upset me I think Cross Edge had one of the most entertaining battle systems yet. The over the top damage and the flashy moves rocked. I think the game would have been better if they stuck to sprites instead of adding in the sucky 3d models further in the game. I didnt make it too far but my team was: York, Raze, zelos, and maybe Aurica

If you like over the top flashy attacks you will enjoy Resonance of Fate.

Phantasy Star Portable 2 - It supposedly has multiplayer functions, but I got it because the first one had a lot of after-story things to do.

Fuck it, gonna trade it in and wait for the expansion. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Dissidia: FF - Mediocre story, fun gameplay. I've just about put 500 hours into it over the course of a year.

It's great, it's only $30 on Amazon, you should buy it.

Take time to go through the tutorial though, otherwise you will get owned.

Resonance was a game I wanted when I first heard of it back in the "End of Eternity" days (both names are awesome though)but FFXIII won so I might end up getting it, and I've alwasy wanted eternal sonata since I first saw it on xbox, but it just feels horribly wrong playing JRPG's on it.
Btw aerozero your I avatar wins because it's Gintoki

Sturm I didn't mean to make myself sound like a fanboy, but i purchased this gen's consoles based off of last gen's demographics and what games I felt suited the consoles. 360 imo is very online driven and due to the amount of friends I have and the cross game chat party system online games suit the console better ie Halo, Call of Duty and such. While PS3 isnt as heavily online driven it seems to cater to more solo adventures where the player can fully immerse themselves in the story free from the distraction of game invites and the such. Last gen PS2 was known for RPG's and fighters while Xbox was known for its shooters. I feel it's reflected in the controller's as well. 360's joysticks are alot stiffer than the PS3 which is perfect for the joystick intense shooters. And the PS3 dpad is more suited for fighting games. I prefer to have my JRPG's on PS (dont like switching disc) but if they happen to be on Xbox as well it's not the end of the world. I will just purchase my game on PS on be happy with it, and if its on Xbox as the only option I'll wait to see if there'll be a PS release eventually (which is becoming more common) and if not in the case of vesperia I'll get it for Xbox. Personally I try to keep JP on JP and US on US. Uh sorry if I went on a rant here XD
