I don't really think any of the units you get suck. I usually stop using Durant when playing, though, because some of the advantages of other characters seem to outweigh his for the majority of the game.

I actually like using Durant. He was quite useful in my last playthrough and got much more BF time than Nietzsche. Chariot was also awesome on hard mode.

Durant owns in every sense of the word; Only problem with Durant is his LUK, but this is negated with LUK +2's and using the Kokorinut when he has 2 stars in LUK so he has 3 LUK. And he's good for a while. Other than that, he kinda suffers from low TEC [2 stars initially]. But like his LUK this is boosted via MVP +2's.

Also, later on he can become a Dragon Knight via near the end of the game. And may I remind you, >Large type. >Scythes. >Move -> Drgn [Dragon]. Though it's only for 3 maps. It's worth using Durant.

Technically, they're all extremely old. This whole forum is dead because the site is dead and then Sting is too busy talking about the weather to think about games so we can't talk about anything new. But you're welcome to post in old topics. Just try to watch out for the dates if you're responding directly to things, since people might not care/might not even come here anymore. BUT RAI I WAS SERIOUS AND STILL AM DURANT IS A LOSER HIS STATS ARE LIKE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I WANT IN A CHARACTER

If you want to try to talk more objectively about it I'm going to start whining about how Yggdra is a more important recipient for LUK boosts and then make bizarre arguments about GEN being the worst choice of highest stat because it can actually be bad for you in a very specific situation because ability difference or whatever it was called is silly. And dragons doesn't appeal to me much, specifically BECAUSE it's late game only. YU gets so easy late game even without all the great items, you know?

As far as Yggdra is "more important" for the LUK. Durant needs it more in my personal opinion. Cos after you get Durant at 2 LUK, use the Kokorinut [3 LUK now], he doesn't really any more help for LUK and as far as Yggdra and her LUK goes: I don't really worry about it too much until AFTER she promotes to La Pucelle xD. I just give her the remaining LUK UP items I have left which is like the Mepple or the Sweetberry. Provided I haven't used them on Durant or something.

& As far as Durant being a loser. You just got work a little bit for his stats to shine through. His lacking points are his TEC & LUK. MVP +2's and Stat boosters WILL help immensely for this xD. And even if I don't use the Elemina Mint [TEC UP] or Goat Milk on Durant, he can come with some beastly stats [Suspending on PSP <3.]
