Doing what you want and being realistic don't have to be mutually exclusive.
Besides, being realistic gives me something that will actually let me stand up and try again if everything fails. I break even easier than glass under stress, anyway. Pretty sure you knew that.

In my math class today, the guy who sits in front of me was wearing a Social Distortion shirt. Whenever I couldn't figure out what to do on the test, I'd stare at the back of his shirt and wonder what I was doing in a room with a temperature of about 77 degrees (Fahrenheit) making decisions about triangles instead of sitting in a room with my brother doing whatever we felt like at the moment, listening to Social Distortion.

can't take the survey, adjunctship doesn't lend itself well to coworking. colleagues yes, coworkers not really. though i get along with many in the department.
