I posted this a while ago as a reply to another topic, and I thought it deserved its own thread. So:
QUOTE(Neon_the_Chao @ Sep 22 2008, 06:35 AM) *

Ya know, I've been thinking about this.

IPB Image

It seems that the Mirabys is another island, right? It has Lacrima on it, so that explains why Fia and Lina needed a magic circle to get there, and if this holds true, then that means Vestiah and the thing containing Heaven's Gate are also different islands.

And what are Kasa, Feinoir, Granteese, the section that holds Nelde, and Valhalla? Are they like provinces or regions or what?

And why do we never get to visit many of them?

And another thing: In the possibly province/region Valhalla, what the heck are those lumpy things that look like they're surrounding a pit or something?

THIS IS CONFUSING!
Comments? Insight?

No, it seems Mirabys is a sea.

QUOTE

Lacrima is on Rosalina Island.

QUOTE

Because the story doesn't necessitate it.

QUOTE
what the heck are those lumpy things that look

Probably mountains.

Mirabys could be a sea. But isn't Riviera a floating island? Unless there is a sea on it (I didn't see one in the CG)... But also, we never find out what Riviera is floating over.

As for the Rosalina Island thing, is Rosalina like, a part of Riviera, or another isle altogether? And what about where Heaven's Gate is?

The story could have been longer.

Yes, I would guess they are mountains, but why do they surround Valhalla?

And what's with Vestiah?

Continent.

Another sea, most likely.

But that still leaves my Rosalina Island and Heaven's Gate island question. And where are these seas, on Riviera or under it?

Why can't they be on Riviera? Oceans and seas aren't bottomless.

It's just that you don't see them in the CG that shows Riviera.
But then again, you don't see a lot of it.

It still makes you wonder if there are other islands/continents and what any of them are floating above.

Well, you see a lot of rivers flowing down into nothingness. That probably hints at something. I just can't remeber how rivers work.

You cannot trust gravity either, since there were some ancient civilizations that got water to flow uphill.

Sturm, yeah, it's a continent. IN THE SKY.

There can't be water surrounding it. Unless the seas are under it.

Of course, we still don't even know if they are in fact seas.

So you DON'T know how continents work.
You only know that the word is doubled up to describe REGIONS known as North America, South America, Asia, etc.

There are several of the types of continents to which I refer in North America alone.

Continents are chunks of mantle floating (and moving about) the earth's delicious filling (made up of magma). These chunks of mantle make up both the visible land and the land cupping the ocean.

Correct. But they don't float in the sky, which confuses things.
