I meant they've turned Visual Novels into anime before.
And lets face it, Riviera is little more than a 3rd person VN with stronger adventure game elements + a battle sytem. |

It's really not hard to have them both survive. While they're quarreling, the Empire moves in on both sides and swipes both Ankhs, making them both pissed, causing them to join the Royal Army in order to get back at the Empire and get their Ankhs back.
