I'm pretty sure that Variance is the range up and down that the damage can go.
STR and MAG are already explained, ish~
VIT, who knows what, and AGL influences WT.

The question I'm asking is, how?
Like, what formulae determine whether an item should have X WT with this character in battle or how much damage Lina's Gran Sabre throw does?

Edit:
More specifically, what exactly does each stat (STR, MAG, AGL, VIT, GRD, HIT, Var) do in terms of numbers?

Ask Tonfa.

Each point in AGL is a +1% decrease in WT.

GRD should be obvious.

IIRC, credits go to Feral Phoenix for Fiaa's icon and ChefMKT for the Lyuri scan.
