Why am I still saddened by having read Romeo and Juliet now although I already knew how it would end? :(

I finished reading The Fox and the Hound by Daniel Mannix. Going to go back to reading Ada or Ardor now, hopefully. I just needed a break from his writing. I PROBABLY WOULDN'T HAVE NEEDED THAT BREAK IF I HAD BEEN SMART ENOUGH TO NOT START IT SO SOON AFTER READING PNIN THOUGH.

Also, why is it that all of the books I own that have hunting dogs in them always end so depressingly?

My English class is currently reading "How Many Miles to Babylon." It's a short read and I'm about halfway through it. I really like it, even if some of the characters are a little off their rockers in a few parts. I also liked "All Quiet on the Western Front," another assigned reading and also very short.

Why do I find war novels to be so depressing yet so enjoyable at the same time?

I just finished a book about Chinese history.
Now I wonder if I should continue with one about the history of architecture or Thus Spoke Zarathustra...
Since the GPS-internet here is to slow to browse wikipedia all the time as I do at home, I'm glad I took quite a few books with me to read in between trips or in the evening (although I am probably playing more Pangya PSP than I am reading, how... not sufficiently constructive :( ).

I'm currently reading two of the Southern Vampire Mystery novels from Charlaine Harris, and a book from the writer of Evil Genius (great fucking book) Catherine Jinks, called The Reformed Vampire Support Group.

It's fucking hilarious. It parodies and makes fun of books like Twilight and all the other vamp novels that make vampires out to be superpowerful. It's an interesting read, and I'm really enjoying it.

Reading The World Without Us by Alan Weisman. Yay required reading--it is somewhat technically interesting, though.
