My favorite books are Tales of Two Cities, Lord of the Flies, .hack//Another Birth, and Les Miserables. I would never had gone within a 1000 miles of Les Miserables (it's 1400 pages long -_-), but the unabridged version was assigned for a summer assignment.

Never try reading a 1400 page book 2 weeks before school is suppose to start, it was hell for me (this was before I discovered Sparknotes). But the story was good, I recommend reading the abridged version to avoid all the uneccessary history Victor Hugo put in his uncensored version.

Currently, I'm suppose to be reading the Fountainhead for my English class, but I'm going to sparknote it. I regret taking this class so much, my counselour "forgot" to mention that Film Analysis was an English class...

I play Riviera for two reasons: IPB Image IPB Image

IIRC, credits go to Feral Phoenix for Fiaa's icon and ChefMKT for the Lyuri scan.

Well. On the subject of favourites, I think my favourite book might be the one I posted about not too long ago, The Wanting Seed.
Never really had a book I would consider a favourite before that.

Still progressing through Justine. On part three! Of the first book of four!
Crap. Fucking school gets in the way of everything. But I'm reading stories I actually like for my English class, for once. AND I MIGHT HAVE FOUND A POET WHO WRITES STUFF I ACTUALLY LIKE: Anna Akhmatova. Just read two of her poems ("The First Long-Range Artillery Shell in Leningrad" and "I Am Not One of Those Who Left the Land..."), and I quite enjoyed them.

Not reading anything for school for once. For pleasure, however, I'm reading Philip Pullman's The Subtle Knife, which isn't all that bad of a story. Takes a large amount of previous information from the previous book, but it's pretty good.

Les Miserables, from what I've heard, is pretty good, actually. I'll check it out eventually.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and all those other stories related to it. Damn schoolwork. I never have the time to actually enjoy any sort of out of school reading because of all the schoolwork, so I'm having a hard time actually getting into the book. It is quite funny, though.

I'm mainly interested in the sci-fi and fantasy genres, and tend to lean towards storylines where corruption plays a major role in the plot.

My favorite book series so far has been The DragonLance Saga (fantasy). I rather liked Tolkien's works, as well. Hebert's Dune was interesting, but I've yet to read the other books in the series.

I've recently read The Kingpriest Trilogy by Christopher Pierson, which I found to be quite fascinating.

But my favorite book of all time is the Washington Manual of Medical Therapeutics! Awesome stuff there.

Currently reading Wintersmith (by Terry Pratchett, who is now officially my favorite author. Ever.)

Also reading Relic by... argh. I don't remember the authors. There are two. I'm too lazy to look for the book, right now. But it's a good book. I believe the sequel(?) is called Reliquary or something. I probably spelled that wrong. Anyways, I plan on picking that up once I finish what I'm reading now xD.

I don't really read much. =/ Although, I do like the Harry Potter series, and have recently gotten into the Left Behind series. And this just reminded me to go look up a series I got into, but haven't checked out for a while, the 'Among the' series.

Hmm, DragonLance... I've only read the Chronicles Trilogy and the Legends Trilogy. My elder brother once told me that, aside from the Chronicles and Legends, the rest of the DragonLance books sucked. And he has the whole darn collection of 'em. >__>''

I'm reading Candide right now in class and it is scientific proof that Voltaire was on crack (or a similar drug) when he was writing it. Other then that, the story is alright once you figure out what's going on.

All 260+ books?! Wow..

I guess it depends on one's taste. I rather liked the Legends trilogy and Dragons of Summer Flame, and that was about it. Still bought a lot of them, though. =)

I hate DragonLance. Never read it, but everyone assumes my name is based on a character within the series.

Anyways. Currently reading the Comic Misadventures of Marx and Engels AKA The Communist Manifesto.
Spending the evening with it. Then abandoning it forever.

Go look up a Kender and if you still hate Dragonlance, something's horribly wrong.

I READ SOME DRAGONLANCE STUFF ASAPH I JUST ODN'T REMEMBER ANYTHING EXCEPT MAYBE A NAME OR TWO.

Just finished Memoirs of a Geisha. I'm sad now. This is the type of story that should have a happy ending, but I'm so sad now.

Now, you all have to do me a favor. See, I have this pile of books next to my bed that I should be reading. You have to help me decide what to read next.
  • Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk
I know the author is good, and it sounds sort of interesting.
  • Ulysses by James Joyce
I heard it was massive. In pages AND vocabulary. So massive that it was banned for being "unreadable." I just HAD to buy it. But it's so weird. I'm not used to my books forcing me to look at a dictionary every two seconds, and I'm not used to my books not using quotation marks... It wont be easy, that's all I can tell myself.
  • Lucky by Alice Sebold
I don't know. I shouldn't have bought this. Not yet, at least. I bought it because of the author, because I read The Lovely Bones. But I still haven't decided if I liked The Lovely Bones or not, even though it's been like years since I read it. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!
  • Diary by Chuck Palahniuk
I don't know. My reasons for wanting to read this are as follows: the author is that one guy.
  • The Beak of the Finch by Jonathon Weiner
I'm supposed to be reading this so I can tell homeschool people that I read it and that I'm smart, but it looks so... non-fiction. And boring. I don't want to read it, but I should. What should I do?
  • Dune by Frank Herbert
JUST TELL ME WHY I SHOULDN'T READ IT. I LIKE THOSE SAND WORMS AND THAT SPICE AND THE CARRYALLS AND THE--Yeah, I shouldn't have bought this.
There were a couple of other books, but I don't have any reason to read them. Make up my mind for me. Pretty please?

I recently read "The Crucible." I recommend it to everyone...I also read Death of a Salesman...it's okay, but I like the Crucible more. I read the Iliad not too long ago...<3
