Anathema, *heart* Options

Hahaha, oh wow.
I took a glance at their albums on iTunes today for some reason I don't recollect, and, according to iTunes, Alternative 4 is of the Death/Black Metal genre, and all the rest of Anathema's albums are Rock. Including, but not limited to, Serenades and The Crestfallen EP.

I was actually going to give it to Cradle Of Filth. I called them and said, “I’ve got this song.” They said, “Do we have to pay you?” I said, “Yeah.” Then they said no. So, I never did send it. I decided, along with Jamie, that it should end the album because of the way it ends, with the piano. We quickly realized that maybe it didn’t need a vocal, that it should be an instrumental. That’s just the way it went.

I was just wandering around looking for the Transcend cover art, stumbled upon this site, and ended up reading this interview about A Natural Disaster, thought this quote was particularly funny.

I dunno why, but I've really started loving all of Eternity now. Previously, only a few songs, Angelica, Cries on the Wind, Ascension, Eternity (Part II), possibly one or two more, have appealed to me off the album, but I enjoy all of it now. Hmm

You like Eternity Part II? I just can't get into that.
I can get into (and greatly enjoy) Part I, III and even 24, but I just can't get into Part II.

Vincent's vocals on Part I on the 3rd repeat of "Do you think we're forever?" kind of ruin it for me, but its still a good song.

I have no idea why I like it, but next to Cries on the Wind, its probably my favourite song on the album. I just really like the tempo change and guitar tuning.

The Serenades album I've got is the combo one. Oh well.

I was trying to limit it, to be frank, there isn't really an Anathema song I dislike, bar Harmonium possibly, since the electronic drum beats kill it. They're all awesome in their own way.

Augh, how did I forget Lost Control off my list? /wrist

The Serenades album I've got is the combo one. Oh well.

And by extension, you miss out on "Eternal Rise of the Sun" and "Nailed to the Cross".
Unless you're willing to fetch the dark Resonance[ 2].

But I do indeed agree that Anathema can do no wrong.

I actually have the single version of that, "We Are The Bible". I'm pretty they're on one of, if not both, of the Resonance copies too.

Except Nailed to the Cross has Nailed To The Cross / 666 instead of the aforementioned.
