More site updates, woooo!
  • Riviera
    • Three icons courtesy of Rhiannon
  • Yggdra Union
    • Three icons courtesy of Rhiannon (again)
    • Yggdra Union Comic Anthology
  • Knights in the Nightmare
    • Six icons courtesy of Rhiannon, one from Irysa
    • Voice collection

Not much to talk about except that the voices have been extracted from the ROM and placed onto the site for listening "pleasure," and we have the Yggdra Union Comic Anthology up for download, sadly only in Japanese.
On the chopping block, a site-wide effort has begun to clean up artbook scans so they can be placed on the site. Primarily focused on the preorder bonus for Knights, the Tome of Lost Souls, work has started on Yggdra Union and Riviera artbook scans as well. Chris has written an excellent tutorial on cleaning up scanned images, so anyone can get involved.
Last and most certainly least, LCN has twitter.

The effort from everyone to get LCN back into gear before the redesign is absolutely awesome. Thanks to everyone for your continued hard work.

Talk to me more about the ROM and maybe I'll be interested.

Also: Did you extract them by HAND?

I was. I was writing a tool for it, but then I found that one had been written already.
As for the ROM, uh, well when I used a tool to get DATA.SFS and the sound packages out, it also extracted some other files:
-banner.bin (obvious)
-header.bin (obvious)
-arm7.bin (obvious)
-arm9.bin (obvious)
-y9.bin (what)
-28 "overlay" files (what)
Something you already know is that the entire script (as well as item, character, skill and levels names) are in the file offset by 32 bytes (so that a space - 0x20 - is represented as 0x00).
I don't really know what else to say - I don't know much else, and what I do is packed confusingly away in my kittenexplorer text file.

For some reason I think the Kitten voice section is the coolest thing ever.

I thought of an idea someone else has probably already thought of:

You could use the files from the KitN voice section as your system sounds!

That's actually an idea I can get behind. Congrats, jcdietz.
