Forget the weapons triangle. It means nothing. Hell, you have to ignore it just to get past BF10. Anyways, Cruz (Hunters in general) are good against Griffon Riders. There is a recurring Griffon Rider, and said Griffon Rider often comes in maps that are not fixed-time - meaning you can throw in the Hunter's affinity for noontime. Cruz's affinity for Forest terrain doesn't mean much. Elena (and Assassins in general) is good at Night, and they void Dark. They also happen to use Dark, and there is a mighty annoying recurring character weak to Dark, that likes to show up at night, and has a dangerous card having to do with the Head being the only one alive to which the Assassin has a counter card that kills the head. *breathes* All in all, there is no useless unit. Hell, even DURANT has his uses...

QUOTE since I can just waste said Griffon Rider with everyone's favorite Princess What paradox have you introduced in fighting Emilia with Emilia? QUOTE lots of BFs later on in the game are either Evening or Night locked by the way, lessening Cruz's usefulness. Reword that, please.

Yggdra is wai cooler. D:
Well if I recall, most of the endgame BFs are either Evening or Night, not Noon. And since none have Forests, and later on no more Griffon Riders, Cruz becomes less useful.
Elena can still get the Night advantage later on, plus she's just cooler. :3 /biased opinion

Well I just never used him. I didn't need the advantage against Griffon Riders since they weren't any threat to me at all... Nietzsche could beat them. Plus being good against Books isn't all that great » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « You only run into them twice. And the first you don't have him so only once!
So I believe you mean Rods. But eh.

No, I do not mean Rods. Yes, you only run into books twice, but the first time (where you don't have Cruz) is negligible since it's scripted. Saying [even] Nietzsche could beat Griffon Riders is a moot point due to their weakness to Ice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0i79q_Ghmg

I don't really use bow-users unless when required. Though I like bloody claw, I can only use card once >_> I never used Cruz(except in the BF he came out) But it's up to one whether one wants to use them or not. I prefer using Elena though

Cruz is pretty good, in my first gameplay I tried to balance the character usage.
And Cruz gets high TEC, so he deals devastating Thunder Bolts(and other card skills) most of the times, if not all the time.
Elena has her moments too, Bloody Claw helps a lot when dealing with annoying "obstacles", and while she has that crossbow that increases Criticals, she's unstoppable.
Anyways, both Hunters and Assassins have the advantage of not being countered when starting a clash.
Though I thought that "advantage" wouldn't work when the clashes involved: Hunters vs Hunters, Assassins vs Assassins, Hunters vs Assassin (and vice-versa) I guess I was wrong...
