Um... I'm a newbie here.

Hi, guys.
Can I ask you how to rip those art goodies out of Yggdra Union games?
I have a game's rom now... But what program you use to rip them out?
(They can be rip out from roms, aren't they?)

Somebody please answer me - pretty please---
I really want to use those map arts and other stuff.

By the way - Did I post in the right place? IPB Image

Allow me to be the first to say, WELCOME! Careful, we all bite.

Secondly, to get the art... run the ROM in an emulator (I'm sure you can find one) and use the frame-by-frame function to take screenshots of every frame you need, then use photoshop, GIMP, or a similar program to cut out the specific image and create a animated GIF, or just safe the single extracted image as its own file. Or at least, that's how I would do it.

Hope that helps.

We either use VBA and play through the game/hack up to the point from which we want the info, or we write our own programs.

GUYS RAI WONT TEACH ME HOW TO HACK HE'S A JERK

I just disable whatever's in the way to get what I want. Be it layers, some random option I decided to try, or whatever else. Then I take screenshots. Except for sprites. I just use the OAM Viewer to get those.

And after I have everything I want, I use GIMP to crop/rotate/make transparent/assemble the bits of the sprites since I think they may have been placed into a blender before they got into YU.

I convert the ROM to a TGA and see if anything comes out of it.

That tends to happen a lot when ripping sprites in other games too...I wonder if it's the emulator itself that does it or if it's already "built-in" the game(s) for some reason.

Anyway, I like putting all the pieces together...and on days where you have nothing to do, it can be quite intertaining.

Though, there's a fine line between sanity and insanity when working with such things (like not finding the last piece of the sprite for some reason).

Rainbows and gumdrops come out.
Since TGA is an image format, obviously images come out, if you're so lucky, and you would do it with a self-written program, but, essentially, the comment was a joke.

Welcome to the site/forums/thing you are looking at right now. If you want to rip something but don't feel like going through frame by frame an alternative is a program called "animget". It's really nifty for sprite ripping it takes a picture of the emulator screen every 10 milliseconds or equivalent to 100 pictures per second. (I threw that in for those who are allergic to metrics) I used that tool to take the sprite rip for the Ledah animated gif wallpaper. I find it much less painless than gong through frame by frame. If you do find and use this save your pictures to a different folder in between uses as they will get overwritten.

Hope this helps and good luck
