I LIED MAYBE THERE ARE OTHER TOKUSATSU SHOWS FOR ME AFTER ALL. THIS TIME IN ADVENTURES IN TOKUSATSU I'VE BEEN WATCHING GARO. IT'S NOT SILLY AT ALL BUT THE RUBBER SUITS DON'T LOOK LIKE RUBBER SUITS AT ALL AND THE EFFECTS AND STUFF ARE ACTUALLY USUALLY PRETTY COOL. Like seriously I'm really surprised at how stylish Garo is when it remembers not to be stupid. It also has awesome music.

On the other hand, it's really obvious that the CG is really bad when they're not careful about it. Being a super serious series, that doesn't work very well. Plus, it had a recap episode and here are my thoughts on Garo having a recap episode:

Garo's legacy of bad, awkward compliments continues with Red Requiem. And this time it wasn't even France's fault, since Rei wasn't even in the movie. Instead it had more breasts than ever before, and a much greater variety in the size of breasts. It was also kind of disorienting in the last half hour. All this falling through the floor and camera zooming out to show random gems falling and then suddenly we're all in a red place and there's lava someone's falling into and then we're in a white place, and at some point we go back to one of these places without explanation or reaction.

RED REQUIEM IS A GOOD MOVIE THOUGH GUYS, SO COOL. I ALSO LIKED THIS QUOTE FROM IT "It wasn't just your life that I saved. One life holds a lot of things: family, friends, and loved ones. When I protect a life, it protects all of those things."

Unrelated, I also finally saw Black Swan. But I'm not allowed to post about things like that on this thread. That's not what mats are for.

I enjoyed it and feel slightly upset that people felt it was a Perfect Blue ripoff. PERFECT BLUE WAS WAY MORE PERFECT THAN BLACK SWAN AND BLACK SWAN SEEMED PLENTY DIFFERENT. I have the feeling that, even though I liked it, I probably won't want to watch it again for a very long time. That happened/is still happening with Requiem for a Dream, so maybe it makes sense. People also lied to me about how many lesbian sex scenes there were.

I watched Black Swan about two months back and liked it. I had had it downloaded forever but was trying to get people together to watch it with and finally said fuck it :(
