I got my wisdom teeth removed yesterday, now my cheeks are swollen like a hamster's and my face has adopted a roughly rectangular shape. The two bottom ones had been growing horizontally into my other teeth, and from what I hear during the surgery one of them split into three pieces, so this outcome is no surprise.
Fortunately I was under narcosis throughout the entire ordeal. This having been the first time I lost consciousness ever since I was a baby and had not yet developed one, the experience was strange. There was no forewarning to me passing out, and from one moment to the other, I was asleep. When I started to wake up a few hours later, I could only open my eyes for a few seconds at best. Eventually I could keep them open enough to focus on whatever was before them, but it still took some time before I stayed conscious long enough to actually move them a little. Words I could only bring out one or two at a time, either describing what I saw (“sun”, “mama”, etc.), or blurbs pertaining my discomfort. Also „Weltherrschaft“ (“world domination”), to express that I was regaining my self-consciousness and knew who I was. After falling back asleep for a longer time again, I then became able to talk a little more coherently, and soon my body unfroze, allowing me to move my arms and later the rest of it.
I still can't eat solid food, so I have been more or less directly swallowing mashed bananas, mashed potatoes, and a bit of rice pudding since.
