I want Gyarados to be good enough to be on my team, but 4x thunder weakness kills. :(

Maybe I'll go with Snorlax.

... After revisiting all my second season games, I don't think I've ever appreciated the season four movesets more. >>

Snorlax is a special sponge with lots and lots of HP. And it hits hard. XP I've never actually bothered to train one since I don't really like normal types, but it could be good. Looks better than Blissey, anyway. EW PINK AND FRILLS.

Oh man, I love your Drifloon plushie, Green. XD You should make other ones if you have the time.

Yeah. I had a special niche in my team for Gyarados, but because the way we play here is no-legendaries instead of by tiers, my whole team dynamic gets screwed up and I can't make a space for Gyarados.

And my surprise bracket team should be fun.

Apparently those tag team trainers finally realized that one Pokémon wasn't enough.

GYM LEADER REMATCHES, FINALLY.

Now we can kick ass in instant replay.

The Elite Four can also be rebattled at higher levels, the rival can be refought and will increase in strength with every E4 victory, and there are certain special matches, such as a double match against a gym leader and E4 member.

The official guide for Platinum is 624 pages long. And they're rather large pages, too.

624 pages? Yikes. Is that all walkthrough, Pokédex info, and charts and whatnot?

By the time I play through the whole game, everything will probably be on GameFAQS anyway. It's Pokémon though so I think I'll be okay. I already have a DP Guide for Pokémon stats and moveset info and that's pretty much all I need...

And then there's also Serebii.net.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm most likely going to pick up a copy tomorrow morning.

Sheesh.

The only Pokémon that I don't have Pokédex info on are Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus, which is fine because I don't use them anyway. They're my box warmers to keep my gazillion Feebases company.

... So I lied, I didn't buy Platinum today. Came down with the stomach flu this morning. GREAT.

D/P/Pt RNG manipulation. Basically, Pokemon's answer to FE's RNG Abuse. Have fun breeding your shiny Jolly Gible or whatever.

Video Walkthrough

Smogon is a flaming piece of shit and nothing they say has any relevance on this thread. I would rather remain ignorant to any research made into the subject than acknowledge any form of involvement in said research on their part. I hope the lord find fit to give them a prolonged, painful death.

XP That's way too confusing for me. Can't we all just play Pokémon like normal people? >>

Speaking of breeding, I have a silly question: does the Everstone trick still work for breeding a Pokémon with the same nature as one of the parents? Last time I tried it in Diamond, it... didn't go so well.
