Chess is really cool. It's fun to play, has a lot of replay value and the graphics also have a unique appeal to them. I didn't like the sequel though, it was too much of a rehash and the new fps sections were horribly implemented.

Chess tier list:

God tier: Queen

Top tier: Knight

Middle tier: Rook, Bishop

Low tier: King

Peasant tier: Pawn


Hax tier: Pawn who reaches the enemy base line

God tier: Knight, Rooks
King tier: Bishop, Queen
Top tier: Rook, Pawn

Rooks take 3 turns to start being useful though. First you have to move the pawn in front of them, then position them behind it and then move them horizontally so they can start doing things.
Unless you want them to remain in the back alley so they can do that rochade move with the King.
I see what you mean with the Knight being God tier and the King low tier though.

Rooks, when parallel, create a line of death. And if one is killed, the other immediately destroys whatever killed it. Hence why I specified that Rooks (plural) is god tier, Rook (singular) is mere top tier.

I still play Chess. Not to regularly anymore since my job conflicts with the time I was able to spend on the school team this year.

I play chess. Although, to tell the truth, I haven't played in a long time, so I kind of suck now. :/ I like chess, though, it's got an air of class and intellect.

I'd like to try that one with cannons (Think it's Japanese chess, could be Chinese), but only one person I know owns it, and I never get to go to his house.

Come to think of it, my dad said, "Here, learn to play shogi" and tossed an instructional manga into my lap. :/

if I can find it I'll try to make some sense out of it.

I suck at western chess. This is one of the primary reasons it is better to keep me away from the military. I have no tactical sense whatsoever, unless it's a soccer/water polo game. D:
