S.Ranking using EXL or Lv.3 Options

I was wondering... Does it make a difference if you use a lv.3 overskill instead of Disaresta if you want to S-rank someone?

I know it's been like almost two weeks since the last post but: In the long run, I do believe using a Level 3 overskill will benefit you scorewise instead of Exl.

Because at the end of each chapter, you get ranked on Turns / Items Remaining / Friends. By using the respective girl's overskill and finishing the battle, they gain +1 mood/trust if I recall. Your score will boost dramatically if all of the girls have the musical note in their status screen. (Of course, one would have the hearts >.>)

You do remember, that Ein has LVL3 overskills too, right?

Of course I do, however, you don't gain any mood/trust for any of the girls if Ein finishes the battle with a lvl 3 overskill, and judging by my last post, I didn't go into enough detail it seems.

The point I'm trying to get across is that by using the girls to finish the battle instead of Ein, their trust/mood will go up as some chapters don't have enough events to please all of the girls. e.g. chapter 6.

Actually, scorewise, it i generally better to uise EXL for two reasons.

1- EXL skills net an S rank much easier because it gives more points.

2- LVL 3 Overskills require a full meter where-as EXL can be executed with an empty gauge.

Generally if you want an S rank, make sure to keep the amount of time you spent fighting to a minimal, the less number of foes there are, the fewer. Don't be afraid to take a beating. Also, depending on what you use to finish off your opponent, you will gain a rank automatically. Regular attacks will not gain more than an A-rank. You need to use a level 1 really early in the battle, to get an S rank. A little more time is given if your using a level 2, and still a little more for a level 3. EXL can be executed late into the battle but if you execute it way too late, you'll still get an A rank.

If you want the pleased score to go up, use the level 3 for EACH and every girl. Do not use EIn for a level 3 unless its a boss battle. Also, the only competent level 3 Overskills Ein has are Gran Quake (useless later), and Mimic ray (heals XD).

I'm pretty sure that it comes out to almost equal in terms of raw points whether you get a trust/mood point or if you use Exl...

No, and mood points go (indirectly) towards the ending.

I just let whoever I want the ending with get the first kill in the chapter, then have Ein EXL the rest of the battles. The other girls don't get any extra's, unless you screw things over for the events.

Disaresta gets old fast though. Last playthrough I employed Chef's idea of level 3's for all the girls, and simply attempted to get the maximum level with each of them. I ended up getting Fia's ending though.

Well, all you need to do is to get the musical note status on the three girls and the girl you want the ending with get the heart status. Then you can just use Disaresta for the rest of the battles to achieve extremely high points for each chapter.
