Demo was amazing, but I'm going to borrow it from my friend when he's done and buy it when it's like $20...maybe less.

I want Resonance of Fate though, but that's probably going to be thrown in the bargain bin soon because of FFXIII and GoW3. So I'm only getting Strange Journey this month and everything else later.

Kratos has a fucking badass design. And he doesn't really need much of a personality in a game like this. Plus, the music and animations for killing things are the shit.

I fucking hate Kratos on every level. Button mashing and killing are fine, I enjoy it myself, but Kratos is morally repugnant to me. I'm going to quote a post I made on another forum about him,

Seconding/Thirding/Numbering the hate for Kratos as a character. I find him completely unlikable on any level whatsoever, and some of the shit he does bothers my moral compass and sets off alarms in my head that this is not someone I should be rooting for, ever. It makes any fun the games might have had for me go completely down the drain. The things i enjoy most in video games are setting, characters, and stories, and they really just fucking blew it with Kratos.

Besides the fact he's a big, buff, grunty bald guy (we sure don't have enough of those in games already by golly) and full of MANLY RAGE and doesn't afraid of anything and whatnot, he's got no respect for women. This I find to be the worst aspect of him.

He feels bad because of what he did to his wife and kid. This is why he sets out for revenge. I could have liked him just fine had he stayed focused on this, but instead he desecrates their honor and any chance he had at redeeming himself in my eyes by going around and fucking anything with ovaries and tossing them by the wayside. I get it. We're supposed to be in awe of his manliness, but this just comes off as typical frat boy HUR DUR I SLEPT WITH 275 WIMMINS MY SOCIAL STATUS IS PRO NOW. His wife and child's spirits must be completely ashamed of him.

Which isn't even historically accurate. They were largely gay back then and would create relationships with young boys so they would protect each other better in battle. Women were only used to procreate. Which, mind you, isn't a good view of women either, (it's fine to not like them sexually/romantically but not okay to treat them, or anyone really, like lesser beings) but it'd make a lot more sense seeing as what time and country he's supposed to be from. They didn't even do the research! He's just a stereotypical he-man frat boy's mary sue fantasy. I cannot get behind him or support him at all. The only way you'll see me enjoying a GoW game is by throwing him off cliffs about fifty-eleven times before getting bored and putting in a game with actual value in.

I enjoy some completely fucked-up morally characters. I can be considered morally fucked-up by some, myself. But damn, dude, Kratos is just bland and disrespectful. He has no real motivation or reason anymore, and without that, he's just a shell filled with disgusting tropes being passed off as cool.

Sorry. Next game, please.

Maybe I'm thinking too hard about this, but goddamn he is a sleaze of the worst kind. Sorry, but I require more quality in my heroes.

Well, I guess GOW3 is out of the question, then. The guy at Game Stop who sold me FFXIII mentioned that it was coming out, but I'm starting to think I'm better off not playing it.

Also flying off to Japan today. I'm pretty sure I can make it to the apartment without my dad navigating...

Well. Pretty sure, anyway. Otherwise my life is going to turn into a bad late-teens parody of the children's song about the lost kitten.

Maybe it's the fact that I don't see him as a hero, he's just some badass mother fucker to me. I never thought about the morals of his actions or anything. I'm actually not even a fan of bloody and gory games, but this one has great puzzles, really good peaced action and an amazing soundtrack.

Being big and grunty and being a fucking asshole does not = badass. Sorry. I have extreme issues with how the media portrays "badass" and Kratos is the exact opposite. He is a sad, sad little man who deserves not the money we spend on his games.

People who cheat on their loved ones are some of the lowest scum of the Earth possible to me. It is an inexcusable, selfish action that will make me rage forever in an instant if brought up. It's completely disrespectful and anyone who does it, real or not, is not someone worthy of our attention. The fact the creators try to play this up as COOL and HARDASS instead of displaying the real consequences of such actions makes me pity them. They must have some serious relationship/women in general issues.

EDIT: Am I the only one who finds the fact that Kratos has a huge gay male fanbase to be hilarious? Apparently he looks exactly like a bunch of gay porn stereotypes. The creators were unaware of this until recently and acted extremely surprised and put off when they found this out. This is way gays rule. Bothering people rules.
