There are still tons of good western games on Sony platforms, and hell, Nintendo had Rare, and Silicon Knights for a while. A lot of big 3rd party publishers like to publish on multiple platforms too.

I'm going with Irsya on this one. While admittedly my favorites are mostly RTS games, like Warlords Battlecry, there are plenty of others and they don't fit nicely into set themes. Yes, you are receiving a Western point of view, but if anything that should allow you to appreciate subtle variations of theme more than in games where all you know about the culture is what you learned on 4chan. Admittedly there are some very, very bad ones, but these exist in Japan too, you just don't know about them because they were bad enough that everyone knew to keep it the hell in Japan and minimize profit damages. Unfortunately, Slaughter Sport somehow wreaked vengeance upon the American populace for at least three successive ports, the producers must have hated love and goodness.
