Um, the choices of characters in Touhou games are incredibly different, try using a ReimuA vs a Youmu/Yuyuko.
It's just that, rather than simply winning the game, the point of Touhou is to go for grazes and multipliers. It's more in the spirit of old time games where winning wasn't nearly as paramount as the HIGH SCOOOOORE. |

I'm completely aware of this, I enjoy shumps. I do not enjoy most Touhou. When I was comparing characters, I was comparing design. Not the actual gameplay characteristics of it. Of which, being blunt, I preffered Reimu in every game I played. And yes, I have beaten them, some on hard mode. I can at least agree with you that ZUN seems to be stuck on a "Servant and Mistress" theme that repeats almost every single game.
LETS LOOK AT ALL OF THEM Marisa and Mima That...er...scythe girl and Yuka Maid Girl and Shinki Those two completely forgettable science girls Sakuya and Remillia Youmu and Yuyuko Chen and Ran Ran and Yukari Reisen and Eirin Eirin and Kaguya That Shinigami and Yama Wind Priestess and Kanako Sorry for the lack of names for some of them, I didn't feel like visiting the wiki. It's a little hard to tell while dodging all the bullets, but in Kanakos full portrait (that shimmers on screen when she switches into spell card mode) is she wearing sandals? That would make her possibly the ONLY one who doesn't wear finishing school shoes or just socks.

That doesn't make any sense. DBZ was more sitting around talking and going AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH for 4 episodes till someone swung a punch.
The music is so damn overrated it's not funny. Extremely few tracks are catchy or memorable, and only serve as eating old marshmallows does. They're sweet and soft for a bit, then they you realise they're stale, recycled, and you spit them out, with a horrible aftertaste and a sugar headache. After watching the april fools SRW spin off video, as well as reading some of their profiles (Yukari can destroy the entire pocket world??) I've been convinced that they all fit in with the same "shoot big explosions of death" grouping as DBZ and such. It's like making a Shonen world hook but filling it with Shojo characters.
