I am a Nintendo fanboy, but I must admit that they are indeed in trouble.
Nintendo's problems are numerous, but here are the most outstanding:
-Lack of good third party games. Yeah, RE4: Wii Edition was good, Soul Calibur Legends was okay. Really, there are a LOT of third party games. They just aren't good.
-Lack of third party games period - no SC4, for example. Or MGS4. The creator guy (forgot his name) was begging to get Snake in Brawl. They should have jumped when they heard that and proposed to make MGS4 for Wii.
-Games are directed towards younger audiences. For instance, Pokemon used to be cool. Now, when I see the new ones, I'm seeing some stupid, hokey pile of fail that Nintendo crapped out to make a quick buck. Even solid games like Animal Crossing (which, granted, was kinda kiddy anyways) or Kirby (which, by the way, has no titles on Wii) or even Mario or Sonic (Who was dying anyways)
-Lack of first party games. No Kirby or F-Zero.
-Hindering of classic, great series. Sonic and Zelda come to mind. Sonic, for the obvious reasons, and Zelda, because although Twilight Princess was amazing, the series could be SO much better. The overall series lacks seriousness and game fundamentals. They need to drop Toon Link games, and get better graphics (As good as TP was, there were still many polygons).
-Alternative gaming style. Not everyone likes motion controls. A lot of people like an actual controller rather than a remote. More games need to be compatible with a GCN controller so more people can join Nintendo's audience.
If Nintendo would just fix these obvious flaws, I'm sure everyone would hate them a little less.
