Got Hisui's True Ending.
No teardrop left my eyes, but they were quite waterly, wide open and actually lagged behind reading the scrolling text even though they're usually way faster.

Will start Kohaku's story later today.

I finished fate/stay night yesterday 100% complete, Yes, HF is awesome, the fillers are fun since it's Ilya <3 <3 <3

Sakura is ok I guess, I have mixed feelings for her, it's a love-hate side. Also, if you collected all the tiger stamps, you get an ilya and taiga having a hot spring bath explaining all the routes :3

Also, this ending, I'm sooooo happy *sniff* It truly is a deserving grand finale, I think it's the best route if it wasn't for all the h scenes.

p.s. Kirei is so GAR
Shirou is awesome in this route, and painful to watch as well

QUOTE(Irysa @ May 11 2008, 06:17 AM) *

What're your thoughts and inputs on them in general/what have you played?

Not "true" games? Inferior and dumbed down versions of adventure games? Atypically generic love stories for lonely virgins? Replacement of human contact for the socially inept?

Or maybe you had some GOOD things to say about them, hah.

I'm working on finishing Tsukihime and Ever17, both of which have been extremely bad. I gave up on trying to do F/SN altogether, and Yume Miru Kusuri.

Mostly I feel these significantly suffer from dialect and such being lost in translation along with the writing style not being particularly amazing in the first place. I've not seen any that really enhanced the experience significantly with their music or artwork, as I have a vivid imagination anyway. I'm still of the general opinion that most who do enjoy them a lot don't usually read normal books.

You seem to have developed a much more positive opinion of them over time, Asaph.

Also why is there no Umineko in this thread? Why isn't there more Umineko discussion on this forum in general?

I've been wanting to try Ever17 for a long time. I might get it Friday.

Also, I'd like to make it clear I am aware Umineko is a 'sound' novel, I just don't consider it different from a visual novel in any significant way.

The visuals for Umineko are pretty eh. The sound is really what makes it work so well - if it was lacking all of the music and sound, it wouldn't be ANYWHERE near as good as it is.

I think the music has more of an impact even for visual novels WITH great pictures.

I finished all of Ever17, and recently found out that there's a translation out for Remember11. But I'm not too interested in the plot.

Not at all. Also production quality is high, almost everything animates, animated opening, animated ending. Nice stories (yes stories that are interconnected to each other) too.

Also EF > Ever17, FSN

edit: I forgot to mention that the music is incredibly great and the animator is Makoto Shinkai

Seriously, no one talks about Umineko here. 7 is out, and I'm about to read 6.

Also, anyone who's interested/slightly interested in VNs should read Crimsoness. Highly freakin' recommended.

Crimsoness was indeed awesome. Took me a while to figure out how to beat the statue though. I'D TALK ABOUT UMINEKO BUT I'M ONLY ON 4. AND I DOUBT THERE'S ANYTHING I CAN SAY/THEORIZE THAT YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY HEARD.

Visual novels I've read that I recommend: May Sky, Ballad of an Evening Butterfly, Hallucinate/Flanco, and I too, saw Dreams through Air. And Higurashi and Umineko. That's about all I can think of right now.
