How can you know that there's NOTHING in store for us, Asaph? Seems like you know the future, I see....

It's good to keep going on my life. We're forging our OWN future okay, the thing that you decides today will make a difference in the future....

Roukan, I love the 'unknown' ones..... I can't wait! Dunno, maybe there IS or there's NOT afterlife.....

Enzd, keep up your life, man! Cheer up! There must be someone in the world that have bad life than us but they just persevere it through..... and at last they change their life!

It's not exactly intelligence or physical status that will control your life. It's your will for survive that pushes your through. Even if you have all the stuffs needed to do something, it won't become true if you didn't pushes for it, that is, will.

Stop saying killing yourself up okay Enzd? Stop being pessimistic, there must be something good that will happen in our life....life is not dull, black and white and static. There must be something that WILL happen, whether it is bad or good.

There are definitely people with worse problems than what any of us have or think we could have, and they just keep on going. I, for one, don't have that kind of strength on my own.

With the kind of intelligence and strength I have, I will only be elligible for the very low-end jobs, and I don't think I could even do those because I have such a weak spirit, which means I'll have a lower chance of keeping an apartment by myself, and trying to find a good roommate sounds difficult. There is always the chance of something very good happening to me, but my luck is also low, so I don't really expect that to happen to me without something absolutely horrible happening. All the while, my parents will be reminding me of how much better I might be doing if I had just gone to college, which leads back to my base skills being so poor, which is ALL MY FAULT.

And really, I don't have any goals. I don't want to "see" any famous object or location, I obviously don't care if I don't live to see the day we're living on other planets, I don't want to eat or build any certain large portion of food, I can't and don't want to climb Mt. Everest, or swim from one location to another that's miles and miles away. None of these silly things, or the others that I could think of, sound interesting to me at all (well, the living on other planets thing would be neat, but that may not happen for hundreds of years and I really don't want to set my life on that.)

Yes, this can change, but only if something really good comes along and rejuvenates me, like, for instance, a loving girlfriend or wife or something. I'm a very boring person, and usually am very quiet in real life, so I'd have to meet someone who doesn't mind a socially inept boyfriend/husband (which really, if I'm married to them by the time they figure it out, that probably isn't a good sign.) And I've heard that crap about how "the quiet ones are always the best listeners," but a good listener I am not. This may have something to do with the fact that my mind has a low capacity and can't comrehend many things at once.

Really, my future looks dull and empty. I'm accepting this, and have made my decision. I'm not really sad about anything.

How I'd love to re-roll this character right now, though... : /

QUOTE
Just because you don't care about other people anymore doesn't mean they aren't there. Let's say a sibling of yours killed themselves, without thinking about the effect on you. Would you be able to deal with it?
Yes. I have no feelings towards my sister at all.

And your logic is flawed, if someone don't care about them, the point IS they don't care about what they'd feel upon their death.

QUOTE
- Pain. Most methods of suicide involve bringing a great deal of pain upon yourself, and a natural survival instinct will stop you from doing this to yourself.
There are painless methods too. And even those that cause pain are generally momentary.

QUOTE
- The unknown. We have no guarantee that what comes after death is better than life, if there is anything there at all. This can prove to be a risk most of us don't want to take.
It is "generally" forbidden in most world religions to commit suicide, and to those who do it anyway with beliefs other than a total blackout, it would be in trust of a positive ending.

Your point only goes out to those who have not decided what they believe occurs after, which is a surprisingly less amount than those who have.

Then replace the example for someone you DO have feelings for.

Then what do you think comes after death? If my point has no effect then surely you must have a belief yourself.

I don't think anything happens, thats my belief.

People I love die anyway without any regard for me, I don't see how it matters. And as I said anyway, if someone doesn't care about the response, then your point is moot.

And since everyone seem to bring up "hopes for the future" a lot, what is someone supposed to do if they HAVE none? What do they do if they have no ambitions or goals for later in life, and simply see it as just as incessant working till they can't do anything anymore?

Waste away, find a reason for living, or die.

Everyone has a reason for living. Everyone. If you give up on life, it simply means you've lost that reason or you never found it.

I want to go out with a bang, not a whimper.

I, too, can not use the quote feature that well.

Personal experience. Dangerous fun.

I tried holding a knife to my throat before, but I couldn't go through suicide. In fact, now that I think about it, I was more thrilled than scarred by the whole thing.

And what made you want to do that? Was it for fun? Or to see if you would really do it?
I've tried to kill myself. I lost everything I had I a house fire when I was 10. I also lost my aunt and uncle in the fire. I always though that there was something I could have done to help them. I blamed myself for their deaths for 4 years before I was put in a hospital for trying to kill myself. I was there for 6 months and when I was let out, I still haven't forgiven myself. The only reason I haven't killed myself was because I made a promise. I promised to live for my aunt Clara and uncle Mark, and try to make them the most of my life.
So don't tell my that you felt thrilled, because I've tried. There was NO thrill in trying to kill myself.

You rock, Rasler. Despite all the hardships, you continue your life. I'm sure your aunt and uncle would be happy if they knew this.

+-+-+-+-+

Asaph, if you didn't want to believe anything 'GOOD' or 'BAD' that will happen in your life, what point for you to live? After all, if you said that in 'somebody' life there would be no special stuffs that will happen, then you know the future....but if you return to the past and said to the guy that there's nothing interesting happen in his future life and the guy kills himself, so what will happen to the future that you went just now....

What I want to say to you all was we're forging our future. If we kill ourselves, then we're pussies for being afraid to cross the challenges of life. It's GAME-OVER. After all, there's no one ever go to the future or even, the past. So now, my conclusion is still the same, continue your life and hope (Hope equals to work for it) for something good to happen in your life.

QUOTE

When I said fix, I was talking about my lack of intelligence or physical lameness, nothing to do with "mechanical related stuffs", which I know nothing about. And again, I lack the will to do such fixing.

QUOTE(vahn14 @ Jan 5 2008, 12:53 PM) *
What about us? And your friends? Don't you think a lot of us would be sad if you died?

I thought about it, and I probably wouldn't tell you guys, so don't worry.

My, my Enzd....you're really fed-up to your current life. Study yourself man, I'm sure you WILL find something in yourself. Each human have a brain to think. If we're just thinking to kill ourselves, we're better pull our brain and throw it somewhere else.

See an animal, they can't think, but they're trying to escape from being eaten and they're survive until this day....but for us? Think about it Enzd.....don't say you want to kill yourself, think something positive and WORK for it....only a simple step can change your life...... between life or death. Once Game-Over, there's no restart button.....

Be an Optimist, not Pessimist.

Enzd, all this talk you you wanting to kill yourself is getting depressing. I'm sure there is something or someone in you life worth living for. If not, your not looking hard enough.

None of you know two shits about what his life is like, stop acting like you do.

And Sandpenguin, that made no sense at all. If someone isn't aiming to create a situation that they want to be in, because they don't care anyway, they aren't going to be in something better anyway. Your "future hopes" idea is irrationally optimistic.
