Spartan rule. 2 leaders with complete power, both elected by the people, both with equal power, they must both agree on anything for it to pass, and they get removed after some length of time, at which point the people get to decide what happens to them.

Too bad they got totally thrashed though.

Okay guys, this is one of the few last posts before the school throws some cuffs into my body.

Any type of governments would be okay for me, but the one that promises success were the leader itself. No matter how good the government system is, it's just useless if the leader didn't utilize it well. The type governments are just the utility, it was the leader himself who uses it into it's fullest.

1.And what the heck is happening to Pakistan just now really fuxx me off.

First, they want Democracy, they'll get it, (After the seperation of India by British) After a few years, they want some change because the prime minister is sucky (Corrupt, dirty, shitty, etc...) Then, the military takes action. Lady luck smiles again on them. After that, THE PEOPLE wants to change, again.... no consistency in government types will destroy the nation sooner....or later.

If you're the army, would you want to give back the power to the people back even you know what will happen when they have democracy?

You'll think about it. I won't tell you because the answer lies on your mind.

2.Hah finally, Nepal parliament abolishes the monarchy system! Congrats! No more stupid kings pushing our head into the earth. That's why you are so cruel to your people. (I hope any kings/queens wouldn't be foolish enough to join his track) New question arise, can the people govern themselves? Also time will tell.

3.Don't think that you're the leader then you hold the joystick for yourself because when you're over the head the army would knock your head..... somehow the army is like a 'reset' button to a rigged government whenever problem arise. But sometimes, the army sided with the government.... this is bad. Wherever the leader points his finger the army would follow it......

All and all, the government have their shits and stars of their own. Bureaucracy for the democracy/capitalism, secret police for the communist that will nabbed you from behind, some imperial guards that crushes your head if you fight the king. Well, that's politic. You have to play shit or you will be pelted with shits....literally.

But without a leader, there wouldn't be a government. Also, it wouldn't breed any superpower states or just a happy, stable nation with a lot of pies to be eaten, not poison. And the greatest thing of all, they unite us humans nor from a good peaceful way or the hard bash into our nose. And it will continue for generations.......

Don't leave this thread die! Sustain it alive until I returned.... at November.

This is madness.

Maybe we should just get proportional representation right for once. Don't get someone to represent you, just represent yourself.

Welcome to the forum!

What is the best form of government? I don't really know. People say they have a better idea but most of them probably won't work. Nations rise and fall really fast. They also change their governmental systems for one reason or another from time to time for various reasons. The reason the system of government changes is b/c it has some irreconcilable flaw which is rectified by the new system. However, the new system has its own flaws. These are realized in time and the system of government changes again. It's a vicious cycle... The cycles however, are quite long, probably more than 200 years long.

Someone once said that democracy is a terrible system of government but it is still the best one ever tried.

The best tested form of government is democracy+capitalism. These types of systems have higher median incomes on average than any other system. It could be that dictatorship+capitalism is the best form of government. This is what China has. Economic experts say China is catching up to the USA in terms of GNP (Gross National Product, a measure of the goods one nation produces in a year).

The trouble with dictatorships is crazy dictators and succession of power. Dictatorships last a long time because people usually like the dictator. They end when the dictator dies and the successor he picked fails as a leader. There are no safeguards to ensure the dictator will act in the people's self interest. For example, Hitler's goal of world conquest was in the best interest of the Germans, however, he didn't realize that such an attempt was doomed to fail. In the end, Germany was much worse off after having attempted world conquest than if they had never attempted it.

It's important to note though, that even groups of people can make foolish decisions. This is b/c of "Group Think," a flaw in human reasoning that makes us likely to believe whatever other members of our group believe. You need look only as far as the Iraq war decision for an example.

Dictatorships last a long time because the dictator usually got to be dictator through the military, so no one else has the power to overthrow him.

AND THAT'S WHY MILITARY GENERALS CANNOT ENTER POLITICS. THEY'RE JUST ACTING AS PACIFIERS IF THE PARTY POLITICS THROWS SOME COCKTAIL PARTY.

BASED ON WHAT JCDIETZ SAID, IT COULD BE CONCLUDED THAT WHAT IS SAID IS NOT LIKE WHAT IT SEEMS ALREADY. CHINA SAID THAT THEY'RE COMMUNIST, BUT IN CONTRARY THEY UTILIZED THE DICTATORSHIP+CAPITALISM.

ITS HARD FOR SOMEBODY TO CONQUER THE WHOLE WORLD BY HIMSELF, WITH NUCLEAR EVERYWHERE....

IRAQI FREEDOM? MORE THAN OIL THINGY AND OPPRESSION RATHER THAN FREEDOM. What freedom? Killings everywhere, bombings everywhere.... and now the kurds had been released from their cells, even the neighboring countries are steaming about this.

But at last, there's no more oil in the world. Let's use bike instead....

One of my class talked about politics on topic. I learned two things from it.

Democracy, as fair as it sounds by voting, is CRUSHING the will of the minority.

Also, a politician's job is to be able to make the difference between what the people want and what they need. We can't get everything, not everyone understand it.

Ever heard the phrase "Majority rules"? It's what Democracy is all about. The US constitution specifies certain rights that the government cannot [easily] take away (these will be retained by everyone, including minorities), but anything else is fair game.

Would you rather have rule by the minority? I think this is called oligarchy (Rule by a few) but I can't think of any examples. The flaw in such a system is that the majority are unhappy, and will reject rule by the minority. Overthrow of the goverment usually happens in such a situation. Where overthrow isn't possible, productivity decreases greatly.

Well, that's one flaw of Democracy.

There's nothing perfect in any type of government. We choose what type of government that suits our people conditions.

His middle name is Hussein. It's a running joke. Notwithstanding his terrorist sounding name, I think he will win the nomination b/c US voters will pick change over experience. Will he win the presidency? I think yes b/c he will go up vs. McCain who sucks royally. No this is not a troll post where you say someone sucks and don't say why. He is in every way equivalent to George Bush and that is why the American people will not vote for him.

Both McCain and Bush...
Are for open borders and amnesty.
Are for lower taxes.
Are for the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and on terrorism in general.
Are pro-life.

Seriously you guys, where are they different? The American people have had it with George Bush. No way will they vote for McCain. If McCain is the nominee, whoever is the Democratic nominee will win, I guarantee you.

When I say "they" I really mean independents. 30% of americans are idiots - they will vote democrat no matter what. Another 30% are also idiots - they will vote republican no matter what. These people (both groups) are letting others do their thinking for them. They need to grow a brain. Seriously.

To avoid being a 'brainwashed idiot' myself, should I research what the candidates are supporting, who are supporting the candidates and such?

By the way I live in the US; I'm not a citizen, just a 'legal' resident. I can't even work legally for another 3 years (which will be when I recieve my Greencard...hopefully...). I've lived in the US for about a 8-9 years so it seriously pisses me off that Illegal immigrants seem to get more attention than legal immigrants.

Then again I may be brainwashed and not know it.

oh right, My teacher in Chemstry showed our class a hilarious link where people were petitioning against Dihydrogen Monoxide. It was pretty funny considering they say:
[-]People can Die from Inhaling it.
[-]It is can cause car and house damage
[-]Can be used to damage public art (statues) when in condensation
    [-]Used in Nuclear Facilities

I'll try to find the link to post; when You figure it out, you'll wonder why these people decided to make a website about it in the first place
