Yes, can we run this Shaymin thing by me again? I mean, I already have one, but I simply must get a special event one.
And Yuka, I KNOW it's not hard to set up. But a lot of Pokemon that need Trick Room can't learn it. Metagross can't, for example. But it seems all the Pokemon that don't need it can learn it. Gengar, a very fast Pokemon, can. The Pokemon that don't need it are only effective with it in a Double Battle. In a Single Battle, you must make the Pokemon use Trick Room, leaving it open to attack, then switch it out, leaving your next Pokemon vulnerable to yet another attack. That's why I don't like it that much. If Trick Room were an ability, it'd be cool. But it is a move, which is not bad in and of itself, it is bad because most of those who need it cannot learn it. Torterra offsets its poor Speed anyway because of its high Defense and Special Defense, but Pokemon such as Rhyperior are at slightly higher risk, as Rhyperior has a relatively bad Special Defense (plus, most of the types it is weak to have a mojority of special moves...), and Pokemon such as Pachirisu have only their Speed for help. Using Trick Room against a Pachirisu would mean certain death for it. But as there are powerful slow Pokemon, their are powerful fast ones, too. Scyther, Electrode, Gengar, and Garchomp all come to mind. I usually prefer Pokemon with average Speed and more well-balanced Stats. My Blaziken and Milotic are always in my team, and they have average Speed. However, the rest of their Stats are good and well-rounded. My Scizor has okay Speed, but its Attack is through the roof and besides its poor Special Attack (Which Scizor doesn't need anyways), it has great Defense and Special Defense. So it is not necessary to use Trick Room at all if you pick Pokemon accordingly.

I kind of want to stab you in the face now. Metagross doesn't need Trick Room, he's already broken enough. QUOTE But it seems all the Pokemon that don't need it can learn it. Gengar, a very fast Pokemon, can. If all the Pokemon that don't need Trick Room can learn it, why don't I see Sharpedos with Trick Room? Crobats? Jolteons? Aerodactyls? Electrodes? Ninjasks? Weaviles? The list could go on and on. You're just exaggerating, and I don't like it. QUOTE The Pokemon that don't need it are only effective with it in a Double Battle. You work around the whole "HOLY SHIT I'M USING TRICK ROOM MY POKEMON IS TOTALLY OPEN TO ATTACK DURING THIS TIME" crap by forcing switches on the turn you go to use Trick Room. I don't like the way you attempt to justify how Trick Room cannot be used in 1v1s. Trick Room is just as lethal in 1v1s, and it's pretty easy to set up and relatively risk-free with some low-level predicting. QUOTE But as there are powerful slow Pokemon, their are powerful fast ones, too. Scyther, Electrode, Gengar, and Garchomp all come to mind. Electrode is not a powerful fast Pokemon. Have you even looked at his attack stats? 50/80 are average at best. Garchomp's not really fast enough to save himself from lethal ice attacks either. Replace Garchomp with Starmie. Starmie's a whore. QUOTE So it is not necessary to use Trick Room at all if you pick Pokemon accordingly.
Yes, Trick Room is unnecessary with certain teams, but that doesn't mean I'm going to use something like a Slowbro WITHOUT Trick Room. Especially when going against some of the teams people use here at LCN, Trick Room is essential when using certain Pokemon. I'm seriously certain that Trick Room is one of the best moves to be introduced in 4th gen, and it's probably one of the most gamebreaking moves in the game.

I'm not denoting that Trick Room is revolutionary, I like the idea. I just don't use the type of team that would need it, and I personally wouldn't use it. However, I still like Trick Room. It is also effective on foes that are just above your speed, too, so it can really turn the tables in battle. Oh, and about the Electrode thing, I meant to delete that... And Starmie is a whore. >_>
