That's the point. You start to remember where you have to go. Also, a lot of berry patches are strategically positioned. For example, there's a four-plot patch on Route 211 right outside Celestic, right next to a patch of grass which is great for training for Speed and Attack EVs. Then there's two one-plot patches in, and one two-plot patche outside of Floaroma, a town you'll be hitting up for free berries every day, for trading berries, and for slathering the two trees nearby with honey every four hours. Then the mother-load: Pastoria. Pastoria has a four-plot patch in town, and on both exits. You will also be visiting Pastoria daily for free rarer berries, and the northern exit patch is viewable from an area good for Special Attack, Speed and HP EV training. There are other good areas, but those are the most obviously "abused."
And until you start figuring out the timing for each berry, you don't want to set up patches entirely filled with one kind. Set one plot with something that grows fast, one with something that grows slower than a planet, one with something in between, etc.
