This is a story about Chopin. Yes, Tri-Crescendo's first solo game is to take place in the deathbed dreams of famous piano composer, Frédéric Chopin. It's a semi-action RPG semi-in the veins of Star Ocean and the Tales series. Essentially, when it's your turn, you can move around freely for about five seconds, and attack as long as that time hasn't depleted. There's more to it, such as Baten Kaitos-styled class-up implications where you get less time or something but get new things like chaining special attacks and such. Shadows also play a role, with attacks being different whether used in light or shadow, and enemies entirely changing forms between the two. Anyways, I've been looking forward to this game more than any other game I've been interested in, ever. Late at night it haunts me with its frosted beauty.

Oh, and, now that you're interested, it's for Xbox 360. :P

* I named them for the Chopin music played throughout them. I don't really know of any official names for them.

I had heard about an RPG by Tri-Crescendo on the Xbox 360, but I had no idea it was about Chopin.

Soundtrack of the year.

Not all of the songs on the soundtrack are Chopin compositions, just a note. Sakuraba is writing the new stuff.

If I ever get an Xbox, I'm getting this

Ironically, I noticed that one or two of the background music tracks in Outland are based of/renditions of Chopin's work. Most notably, Nocturne nr. 7 at the Botanica meeting stone.

It are times like these that I'm glad to own a X-box 360. I'm getting this when it comes out, no doubt.

Oh snap. I'm playing the newly-released demo right now, it's so awesome.
Some things worth noting:
-The music is great. Seriously, really good. The forest has really, really great music.
-You know the whole shadow thing? Well, the shadows characters cast count, too. EG, I put Allegretto next to an enemy so that his shadow fell on the enemy, and the enemy transformed and became massive.
-The photography system is much better in this game than in Baten Kaitos.
-MULTIPLAYER. In the same way ToS/tA/maybe others had multiplayer, with each player being able to control a different character... Uh, this has that.
-The font is crazy. At least the Japanese font. Apparently a lot of people are playing this in English (and wanting to play it in Japanese), but it's Japanese for me.
-The attention to detail is really insane. Minor, NPC characters are fully animated, down to their clothing shifting as they walk, turn to talk to you, go about their daily business, etc.

I might post a video if you guys want to see. :X It's also really gorgeous, the pictures and trailers hardly do it justice.

XD, after posting, I realize that the transformed version of the enemy is shown in the screenshot I posted.

*cries* Games like these make me want to go get an XBox 360. I actually won't be surprised if I do get an Xbox 360 just for this and, if it makes it to America, Blue Dragon.

I really like the music Sakuraba composes. Even if I never actually play the game, I'll probably end up getting the soundtrack.

Alright, I will. Also, a thing I noticed, EXP gains are modified by where you kill them. EG, killing the pictured monster in the light nets you ten EXP, but in the shade, where it turns big, you get about 26 EXP.

Blue Dragon has been announced for America for a LOOOOOONG time.

A lot of people apparently don't. :/

And, the video I promised: HERE
Watch as I embarrass myself by trying to use an attack I do not have currently equipped! And as I try to take a picture of the bird's ass! Sorry I couldn't get a video nicely detailing the transformation in light and shadow, but those fucking birds avoid the light like the plague.
