RHIANNON IS EDITING THIS POST BECAUSE SHE SCREWED UP. In this topic, we will post songs and reviews for said songs. If you wish to discuss this Music Thing or something of that sort, go to the other topic. Actually, go to the other topic first unless you just want to read what people say or if you just want to say what you think of songs that other people post. NOW ON TO THE PART OF THIS POST THAT ASAPH ACTUALLY WROTE:

The Diablo Swing Orchestra - Balrog Boogie

I recently found this band, and wowie, I was sure surprised. They mix Chicago Swing Jazz and Symphonic Rock into some of the most unique and funky music I've heard for a long time. It vaugely reminds me of the Rocky Horror Show, if you know what I mean.

This song is one of the best of what I have so far. I love the fact they use Contrabass, and no bass guitar here, and I love the Operatic vocals used on the track, which actually sounds operatic, unlike "some" bands who try to use it...
The overall song is exceedingly catchy and memorable, and inspired me to check them out some more. Enjoy!

It's really low quality.
It's okay, some parts seem they would be better instrumental, however.

It seems pretty good. I don't really like the vocals, but I think they could probably grow on me in time. Regardless of how I feel about the vocals, though, I like the song.

Vocals. I'm sorry, this is the ONLY thing I can never get used to in Japanese music. Totally ruins it. That said, I didn't really like the song that much anyway. I don't think the bass agreed with me. The guitar tuning doesn't seem to fit the string instruments either.

What the hell, you couldn't have made out that shit through the poor quality MP3.

I can hear the bass just fine. The tuning isn't exactly a mystery either. o_O

Maybe I'm just used to shit quality.

Bivattchee - Taiyou no Mannaka he
Posted by Walrus

Walrus returns for a second round, after my uneventful post and shameful skip which caused more than a few arguments in the channel. Somewhat. Anyhow, adding to our currently-growing list of posted songs, Walrus brings us Taiyou no Mannaka he by Japanese rock band Bivattchee. The song in question is also the opening theme for the third season of Eureka Seven, an anime with a growing fanbase.

J-rock, or practically any music that comes from Japan outside of video game music is not quite well-taken here on LCN, atleast from what I've seen, and many so far have considered this file to have poor quality. However, I see nothing really wrong with the quality, aside from the fact that at some points it sounds like it's in some area that's between wav. and midi., but in a mp3 format. I don't even know if such an area exists, actually, and I strongly doubt it. The vocals have been assaulted twice now, and my vote makes thrice, as I don't really like the vocals. At all. However, the song itself is pretty nice, and like Rhia has said, I think the vocals could probably grow on me.

Really, a pretty good addition to the list by Walrus.

Final Score: 7.5/10

Guano Apes - Pretty In Scarlet

Every single set of lyrics online, including the official one, is incorrect so I'm not posting any. >_> I apologize for not reviewing the past two songs, I'll get to catching up on those once I've had some decent rest.

It was good, aside from the chorus. Didn't really think it suited picking up like that.

From Tonfa. It was decent, I suppose. Reminded me of a song I heard about slashing tires. 7/10

"In Crimson Dreams" by The Blood Divine

It's what happens when Anathema and Cradle of Filth get together.
And I fucking swear this song is based on Berserk.

From Sturm. More angry sounding people singing. This is a second sentence. 5/10

I've been meaning to check them out for a while, but I never really got round to it. <3 hearing Darrens vocals again, thats always a plus. However, I got the feeling that the keyboards were kinda drowning out the rest of the song for a while after the vocals started, although that was minor, and stopped fairly soon. Once it got going, after the great breakdown, instantly liked it. Again, Darren's vocals really help. :D

9/10
