*Nessiah approaches Gulcasa and whispers*

Nessiah: I'm glad you like it, milord... *leaves snickering*
*Gulcasa stands up from the throne*
Gulcasa: Baldus, gather the Dragon Generals! Gather all my men!
Baldus: May ask what for, milord?
Gulcasa: We're going to invade Castle Paltina!!!! *raises his scythe* And put an end to the Royal family!
Baldus: Wha???
Gulcasa: That way I can nulify this commitment and save my hi- I mean, my honor!

*Gulcasa sits on the throne*

Yeah...that could be the reason why he invaded Paltina in the first place...

What I'm trying to say is, I feel the story is more important to be thought about than worrying about the title.
Or just use "Prearranged Marriage"

That story wouldn't make any sense. I'm not talking canonically, I mean logically.
If Gulcasa was prearranged to marry Yggdra, at his parents' will, he would have to be the Prince or second-in-line at minimum to be of a status necessary (why would a random peasant or noble be promised the princess of the ruling kingdom...?), and since he became emperor in a violent overthrowing, well, if he killed his parents to seize control of a country, do you really think he's going care what the hell they wanted him to do?

Maybe his family was overthrown for some reason (their origins?) and driven away, it could have been somewhere after Emilia was born, since she's his half-sister.

Years may have passed before Gulcasa had the proper age to take back what's rightfully his by force, hence the "violent overthrowing" and the nickname he received of "Emperor of Carnage", he probably slaughtered those who took the throne and those who betrayed his family...

It's a wild guess, I know...but I didn't write this to support that "spontaneous fanfic idea" I wrote because that's what popped up when I read that pairing.

Well, as we all know, I agree with FlameSpark that Gulcasa had some right to Bronquia's throne already. (I mean the country does get its name from Brongaa after all, does anyone but me think that's significant?)

And "Emperor of Carnage" is what the people of Fantasinia call him, because they hate him. But I already said all this in an analysis of his character, so. Shouldn't repeat myself.

(The essay's a public entry on my LJ if you can bear the flying theories--BE. POLITE. WHEN. YOU. COMMENT. OR. ELSE. you might get banned; I've had a lot of problems with stalkers/flamers there, so there's a zero-tolerance thing for them now...)

And don't come to me for clever titles--all of mine sound weird/cliche/are in Japanese/took a long time to figure out.

Still, the point is not the canonical ramifications of the possible fic/oneshot I requested: The point is that it was requested because it's friggin' hilarious. People twist the game plot all the time for the sake of humor, so why the hell not, right?

First off:

Lineage:
1. lineal descent from an ancestor; ancestry or extraction.
2. the line of descendants of a particular ancestor; family; race.

I think this speaks for itself...

About the Emilia bit:
"It could" as in "possibly" Emilia could've been born after, for all we know.

And I specifically said that the "speculation" on Gulcasa's past was separate from the prearranged marriage bit...
