Leon is insane, but not stupid. He's certainly not stupid enough to botch the plan just by jumping into the action too soon. So, sorry if I can't buy it... I wouldn't put it past him to mess up a plan for the sake of shedding some blood. And I bet it's that spear he has if you go rescue Roswell, it mentions something about 'devouring one's soul' or something. Just my own inference o' course. ~~~
