The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
After seeing the movie when it first came out, I wanted to read the original works to see how Robert Downey, Jr.'s performance compared to Doyle's idea of Holmes. While he did a great job in the movie, it doesn't quite fit when compared to the original. His Holmes seemed like a complete slob in everything that didn't involve his work, whereas Doyle's Holmes is precise and meticulous in almost everything he does. The Holmes in the movie was also cynical about everything, which doesn't come up in the book. Holmes and Watson's relationship in the movie also struck me as being bittersweet, whereas they're extremely close in the written works.
I've been chipping away at the compilation for a while now. There are over 1,200 pages and I just hit page 315. I'm so glad it's not close to being over yet. XD
