I basically never heard of Riviera when it was on the wonder swan.. I went to gamespot and heard about good reviews for it but Nintendo gave it a 6.5 out of 10, outraged I trusted on gamespot.com review... I liked the way that:
1) It's an anime game
2) Japanese
3) I need a decent RPG to pass the time, Golden Sun or Boktai's art didn't catch my attention as this did.
4) Finally a unique battle system!
5) On the back it said sexual content, drug use, ESRB: Teen, and wow, I said to myself this is the game for me, as I've heard of bathing scenes and pervertedness... I'm glad I bought this game!
Although after 2 weeks after it's release I've been contacting EB Games, Walmart etc... if they had it.. anyway I bought it off amazon.ca because I couldn't wait and now I simply love it!

Although there are some quite a few drawbacks...
1) Training takes up time, but it helps in later events when confronting a monster...
2) You use the D pad to manuver only...
3) No multiplayer connection...
4) Quite linear...

Now the good points :)

1) Brief anime skin showing!
2) Selection of girls!
3) Humor of pervertedness
4) Extra Contents! This drew me into the game more, because there were extras and a face collection, the cgs are simply amazing!
5) You have a sense of accomplishment when you beat the game.
6) 6 Endings
7) Lots of replay value
8) It's so damn fun! I love Riviera!

Saw this screenshot:

Somewhere, and was instantly interested.
Went out and reserved it, picked it up when it came out, and loved it.

Yes, I bought a game based on a single screenshot. So what?

Click Riviera: The Promised Land Gameplay Movie 3. I love that scene, and the one where they hop on that statue before meeting Archangel! I love it!
Best humor ever!

If you go to the Riviera forums at Gamespot, you'll find a lot of LCN members under different usernames, I can already tell who a lot of them are by the way they post. I can guess who "yggdra" is.

Anyway, I got into Riviera because I saw it on the shelf at Gamestop, when I went to get Pokemon Emerald. I looked at the box, didn't tell me much. So I got on the net when I got home, and searched for info from anywhere, Wikipedia, Gamespot, Gamefaqs. It was all telling me to go buy it. And so when New Year's came around, I went and picked it up, which is really weird because Riviera has a huge fan following, and was supposed to be really hard to find.

The funny thing is, I didn't know about the Extra Contents, Voice Clips and such. I didn't know about the bath scenes. All that was an added bonus. And I didn't know that it was made by Sting either, who always makes awesome games.

It is definitely one of the best games I have had the chance to play.

...I don't even remember why I wanted to play this game. I guess I must've read it somewhere a while ago and when I was really bored one day I decided to download and play it.

I read about it in the Nintendo Official Magazine UK. I was interested because of the anime style and the love feature... >_> AND I DIDN´T BUY IT BECAUSE OF THE BATH SCENES SHOWN THERE!!!!!
This trigger-based gameplay sounded interesting too but I didn´t know about the awesome fighting system.

I was interested in it because... it was being brought over by Atlus. I automatically have to have interest in every game Atlus decides to bring here. And I probably end up buying it, too.

When there was talk of Golden Sun Syndicate covering another game on the site (as Golden Sun is pretty old now, and there's never any updates anymore), several members suggested Riviera as another game to cover, and a lot of people agreed. Though this never happened, it piqued my interest, and I looked up everything I could about it. I was impressed, so I played the *coughromcough*, and then, after having confirmed the awesomeness of the game, I went out and bought it. Actually, I was very dismayed when I went to EB games, and they said that it was out of print and they didn't have any more copies. But they called other stores, and another EB games had one copy left, so i told them to put it on hold for me and I went on an epic journey (read: hour-long walk. But I had to walk back, too!) to buy the game. It was totally worth it.

A friend of mine was playing the Japanese version.
We talked a little about it,I played it in Japanese too. (Or tried, haha. ) Had fun, forgot about it, then it was getting translated and I went EWOFJIAWOFJAWF because it was the last game to EVER get translated in my eyes.

Like, ho shit! Someone... noticed this really random game?!
And yeah.

I was studying Rivieras, mainly the French Riviera, on Wikipedia when I came across a video game called Riviera. Apparently it was a revoultionary RPG for the GBA, so I decided to buy a copy.... >.>

Ok no. I saw a preview of it on IGN before it was released.

Hmm... I think I saw it in RPGamer, but I did not really give a damn about it (coz if my memory did not fail me, I was searching for other games @_@). It was then I saw it in the shops when I decided that it looks cool.

So, I bought it, play it and you already know the rest.

Saw it in a ROM Download page. And downloaded it a week or two later, because I wanted to play new RPGs.

Actually, a friend of mine got Riviera before I did (I *REALLY* wanted it at the time), and she wouldn't shut up about how awesome it was.

And then I got it and I beat it in a week. XD

Hellz yeah it's awesome!

Was out of good gba games, and saw a preview of it on nintendo power.
Was midly interested then.

Saw another review of it on X-Play and they gave it a 3 out of 5.
The previews there made me want to get it.

I knew nothing about the bath scenes until after I got it (seriously!)
