Born on K-2L, a mining colony to her two parents (Rod and Virginia)


Samus lived a quiet and playful early life. Picturesque and free from the busier and more chaotic lifestyles of the Federation planets. But after a malicious attack on her colony by Ridly and his space pirates, Samus was left as the only survivor. She was quickly picked up by the Chozo and brought to Zebes. The rest we all know:

Her human blood replaced with that of the Chozo, she dons the Power Suit and becomes the protector of her Galaxy.


Because of her unique childhood, she's more anti-social and lonesome then other protagonists. She is in fact so much removed and so quiet, that fans have had to rely on plot points and discriptions from 3rd-person discussions about her.

As pointed out by 1up.com:

Samus rarely expresses angst outwards, but fans can guess at what she's thinking. Does she throw herself into battles with Ridley moreso than with other Pirates after witnessing the destruction of her family at his claws? Did she rescue the baby Metroid on SR-388 because despite the threat the Metroids present, she remembers what it's like to be the last thing alive on a ravaged planet?

She sets herself far above other female protagonists because of her personality: silent, calculating, and unnwavering in her mission at hand. Rather then being cocky, brash, or loud, she chooses the get the job done attitude.

It must be because so many female heroines are so much the same. Rather then acting like a stage performer trying to set itself from the other generic actors in the show, her actions and gun work do the talking. It's her trait that earned a place of fear in the pirates she kills, and admiration, respect, and love that her fans have all over the world.

As far as males are concerned though, no one beats Takatchi. A young swordsman with a heart of gold who, one day wants to become a legend. Plus he's cool. Can't forget that.

A young gimpy little mage that almost skipped magic claw for magic bolt, but in the end became in awesome healer that's still going strong.

And has a nice ass. SO GO GO VAL2!!!

The best hero?I don't think there truly is a "best" hero but I will tell you my favorites.

Heroine-Tiara from Meremanoid,proved she was more than just a princess and completely amazed me with
her magic developed later in the game, her knowledge , and ultimately her sacrafice.

Hero-I'll go with Tidus from FFX.Don't know why, guess I'm more into heroines.
