Meh...I wanted to try a game that would last my a while. So I thought about an RPG would've been nice. Don't have a PS2 so I just went to the first thing I saw in E3. Riviera...and then got hooked on RPGs ever since...I think...

How did I get in? I walked. But seriously, I saw it praised here and I picked it up. Riviera is good stuff.

Acquired on a completely random whim one day.

On a sprite website I frequent, someone eventually put up CG art, Mugshots, and overdrive portraits. I got really interested into this and eventually found it at Gamestop.

Dr Sturm, that was also part of the reason I got Riviera, because I saw a few screenshots. xD

It mostly originated from when Nintendo Power had some preview stuffs of Riviera, and the add with the image from the gamebox (the screen for battle preparations) was awesome, because I love the art style, and... It didn't hurt either that there was a several minute long game trailer for games from E3 in one issue of Nintendo Power.

How to get me to buy/interested in a game = Trailer with anime-like art/characters + lots of Japanese voicing in trailer + colorful graphics

No, pay attention, I got into it because of that screenshot. Not "a few."
That one and no other.

Okay, two. That screen shot, and one of those close-up images with Serene from that point of the game. >_>;

....I really don't know how we got into the subject of Gameboy games, but a classmate of mine recommended that I play Riviera, so he lent it to me. I played it, (was absolutely terrible, ahem ahem), and didn't get the chance to complete it, since I gave up when I gave it back to him, saying I would buy it myself...in Japanese.

Well, of course, the price was outrageous, so I gave up on that, and found it new in a game store about a half a year ago. And that's how it happened. *nod nod*
