Best Video Game Hero/Heroine (SPOILERS), And your favourite as well Options

Just do as the title says. Say who you think is the best video game hero/heroine, and also say who your favourite is. Also, defend your reasoning, either in your original post here, or at a later time.


As for me, both my favourite and who I think is the best would have to be Kalas from Baten Kaitos.

He is my favourite for the same reason I believe he is the best. I have found him to be the hero that changes the most over the course of a game. You start out believing that he is a good person and he wishes to help people, but then you are throw a big curveball as he becomes public enemy number 1 about halfway through the game. Eventually you show him the light by kicking his sorry bum around, and he returns to help you restor peace to the land.

I think the best is probably Sora from Kingdom Hearts. I think he is the best because he really matures throughout the course of the games. Also, (I know that this is cliche) he is a kid who basically was forced into defending the world, and he took it without much complaint.

My favorite is Link, every variation of him. He changes so much from game to game, but retains that thing that makes him who he is.

My FAVORITE though is Ash from Phantom Brave, he just really appealed to me and was pretty determined and focused. A little angsty, but eh. Doesn't bother me much.

He was willing to uh, how would you even say it, have his soul destroyed(?) for Maronne and I think that's really sweet. :< Just wish there was more backstory on him.

Heroine... Uuuuh... Talim? Yes, Talim from Soul Calibur! She´s cute and has good moves.

I think the best is Samus. She's a normal human who fights on behalf of peace-loving alien races and beats the living hell out of Space Pirates.

My favorite is also Link, because Link is rule.

Best hero? I don't think there really is a "best" one. However, one of the best not mentionned here would be Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia. Sure, he's not the brightest of them, but he always fought for what he believed was right.

My favorite would be Kite, from the .hack games.

He is just an ordinary kid playing a game. But how many kids would be determined enough to do the same things he did to save the coma victims, even if he could have ended up being one of them? How many would not just freeze, flee and never touch the game again at the sight of Cubia or Skeith, even if it meant death for the victims? That's why Kite is my favorite.

He is seriously the most interesting hero in any game I've played. Unless I'm forgetting someone who is cooler, anyway. I'm probably only saying this because of certain psychological issues he has, and the fact that when he is angsty he is angsty for a good reason (unlike certain other characters who I shall not be naming), but still! And he is capable of accomplishing so much without being an incredibly boring cliched hero. AND THERE ARE SO MANY OF THOSE THAT IT IS VERY REFRESHING TO SEE ONE THAT'S NOT. Plus, all of his other "incarnations" are just as awesome as he is.

But yeah, he's cool (I don't really like his design, though...) and very very interesting and stuff.

Mari went with Ash, I'm going with Marona. She's just...awesome in a sense. She doesn't give a damn about anything except helping people, and plus she's awesome with a speedy weed. No other video game character can use a weed like Marona!

Speaking of Heroes, the prince from Suikoden 5 amuses me because everyone and their mom (and his) wants a piece of him. lol for hints of incest and strange commentary from the npcs.

The prince is what stopped me from playing Suikoden V. I hated him so much.

Anyways... Choosing a hero from a video game is hard.
I'll go with Lagi, from the Panzer Dragoon series. I guess it wouldn't be too much of a misnomer to describe him as the pre-Matrix Neo. Except he's not lame. And he's a dragon. And I suppose "he's" technically genderless.

There weren't Any Prince/Arshtat hints though. Her connection to him was purely maternal. Any other connection that may have been thought of is due to a dirty mind. Prince/Sialeeds is hinted at two or three times, and Prince/Lymsleia has been hinted at but it's been said a lot of times in game that they don't think of each other that way. Lymsleia herself is all "BROTHERS AND SISTERS CAN'T GET MARRIED!"

Personally, I find the thought of Prince/Lym to be disgusting. Most people who like it are either messed in the head or don't have any siblings at all.

I have a sibling, the thought of Prince/Lym made me laugh. It was amusing and cute that she loved her brother so much but was so easy to tease. I was being general on the hints in a joking manner, seeing how it felt there were hints of incest just everywhere!11
