I just realized that my Luminous Arc fanart wasn't included in Chrissy's thing. :( Or maybe the link is dead. I don't remember where it was hosted and don't have the heart to actually go through this thread looking for it.

Anyway, it may not be a Barbatossteelix or a watashi wa hellodesu giraffebear, but instead I bring you the "art" of being incredibly bored in class. And by being bored in class I mean HOLY CRAP THIS MATH CLASS AND THIS CHINESE CLASS ARE THE MOST BORING THINGS I'VE EVER SAT THROUGH IN MY LIFE. Anyway, EVERYONE SECRETLY LOVES MY ART RIGHT? THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT.

Creepy thing that started as random shapes
Blind Octillery fanart
• Moe amoeba?
• English you crocodile vs. Chinese you snake. I gave up on English half way through because it didn't look glorious.

ANOTHER SEMESTER, ANOTHER "BEST OF IN CLASS MASTERPIECES"
  • Commuteboat
Once upon a time this was just a line under "distributive property" and a trapezoid thing connecting all those confusing letters to it, but then I turned it into a sailboat and whatever that Commute stuff is just happened to be in the way.
  • Parascraw
Started as an attempt at drawing a Paras which was horrifying so I scribbled it out carefully. There was also a Successful spider. The scribbled Paras ended up looking like a badass beak of a badass bird, and I like drawing wings, so I drew a bird. The paper wasn't big enough and half-scribbled Successful spider ended up getting in the way (and looking like a stick figure on the bird, holding a sharp object). Probably could have looked pretty awesome if I had the heart to try to finish it. Didn't finish the other wing or do the rest of his body/tail. :(
  • SUBJECT ARTICUNOBALL
I was doing this before my final instead of other things. I don't know why there's a ball, and I also never finished darkening Articuno's outline. And screw bird legs, man

AM I BANNED FROM POSTING HERE YET

These are not pennings, but paintings. These were not done in class. I wonder if I could get away with painting in class... There is also lint on my scanner. SOMEONE HELP
  • Amaterasu
This did not need to be painted. I also forgot what her tail looked like, but my brother said it was good. I think he's lying.
  • MASTERPIECE OF A HIDDEN NAME
This was actually based on a certain fanart of a certain character from a certain thing, but out of respect for this character, I will not say what it was. I don't know why her hair ended up looking so crazy. And she used to have two eyes, but I messed up on the second one and couldn't fix it so I just gave her an eyepatch, like any real cosmetic surgeon would. I lied I don't like this.
  • I am a bird.
It is a bird painted on stone paper instead of watercolour paper (because I turned in one of my assignments for my Orientation to Education class on a sheet of watercolour paper). All those lines and that random hexagon (which I turned into a sun I guess) were already there. And the purple was a pen, so eh. Birds again, guys. Even when painting. Birds.
Painting's fun but I think my pennings are just better and more creative. More than one colour complicates everything.

Also, here's the prawn I drew in the dark on that Nazi Poland paper's "hand-corrected first draft." My teacher probably won't look at it. Sigh.

Some sketches that scanned well enough:

Mounted Chocobo v Black Mage! (Pencil)

Ein approaching Seth-Rah (Pencil)

Feared Kraken (Charcoal)

By training, I sketch lightly. By laziness, I never polish my drawings to a point where they are readily scanned.

Edit: unfortunately it seems I deleted these images from my dropbox not realizing I had linked them here. I'll have to scan them again to repost.

NICE ASS EIN and I counter your arts with more paintings.

This is a Hoppip I painted with these weird solid watercolor paints that were almost gooey and sticky whenever I put any water on them. I did her body and left leaf like ages ago, and finished it by doing the right leaf with the same paint and brush today. But it felt wrong to be making it like that. I think I should have been making her right leaf with my left hand instead. That probably would have turned out better.

A Kecleon, LCN's new favourite Pokemon. There is a story behind this. I did this on Saturday after coming home from a painting class in which we did no painting, and received homework but not painting homework. So I felt I should paint something, and that ended up being Kecleon. FROM TUUUUUUUBES. I also forgot to switch to my smallest waterbrush for smaller areas so things are all over the place, and also Kecleon lost his pupils so he became an angry zombie (makes sense since Showdown saw what I was doing there and killed KeKeKe again). And I also had no idea how I was going to make his tail look like a tail rather than a green blob so it ended up being a lollipop. Have fun.

NEW POST I THINK MY STUFF IS ALMOST BECOMING WORTH LOOKING AT GUYS BUT IT'S NOT QUITE THERE YET. Here is some new art in chronological order:

THING. (Watercolor)
This is actually older than whatever my last post was. I guess I didn't like it back then, but I sort of like it. It's pretty much exactly like the stuff I doodled in classes, where I try to make a thing or do random shapes and then change my mind and turn it into something else. And I don't know, whenever I try to remember these kanji I tend to remember the opposite one instead.

A nice frog. (Watercolor)
Also older than my last post stuff. I KNOW BECAUSE THE PAINT I USED BACK THEN WAS ALL I HAD. WHO SAYS NONTUBES PAINT IS BAD THIS WAS THE CHEAPEST PAINT KNOWN TO MAN AND I THINK THIS LOOKS PRETTY COOL.

RHIA DOES LINEAR PERSPECTIVE (TUUUUBES watercolor)
Individually even, these were way too big to scan. So this is a crappy picture of two paintings I had to do for watercolor class where we had to do linear perspective stuff. We also were messing with color schemes and had to do two paintings so I painted the same thing twice. Both times, rhiadisease ruined my perfect sketches and now they both look nightmarish. I also did a thing on purpose on the closetdoor detailing on the green one that I was specifically told repeatedly never to do/watch out for and fix if happens (letting water just pool up somewhere so you've got a light spot where the water was, and all the paint falls to the side of it). But she thought it was cool when I did it, so there.

LAMEBRIDGE (TUUUBES watercolor + gouache)
Had to do two landscape paintings for the class so I did one of a picture of Bainbridge I took from my first visit to Seattle. This is a very partial scan of the painting because it was huuuge but I really liked how the texture of the water and sky worked. This was the first time I soaked a paper before painting. I also used some white gouache in the sky and it did not work as expected, but it turned out interesting anyway.

some bush (TUUUBES watercolor)
The second landscape painting for that class, based off another picture from my first Seattlevisit. Again, way too big for my scanner, so here's a picture. Screw trees and sidewalks and dirt. I just wanted to draw leaves and grass. Except the layering I was doing took waaay too long for something I only had a week to work on, so I got super lazy.

A WHALE SHARK+MANATEE PAINTING (TUUUUBES watercolor)
My final for the class. It had to be either two paintings or a bigger painting, but I was too lame to buy bigger paper so I did this. Crappy photo again. Also this was awful. I love how the whale shark spots turned out but the paper couldn't handle the amount of water I was using for the water and flipped out. A lot of the splotchy parts are where the paper just said "fuck it" and gave me ugly texture and stopped eating paint. That made me cower out of doing the manatee face properly so there you go. The painting was supposed to be relaxing. My teacher called this a tiger shark. Tiger sharks eat manatees and are generally assholes. She's a terrible person. >:(

NATALIA POKLONSKAYA FANART (pencil)
I love this pencil so much. It let me do everyting (especially the hair) exactly how I wanted to. I actually did this for my Strategies For Teaching Writing class. There was some assignment where we got to make a fake diarything for an important historical person, and we were encouraged to "include art or visuals", so I'm like "yeah man screw one thousand years ago imma do someone who's important today" and then I became the rest of the internet, and drew fanart of her. The picture I was drawing from had her mouth partially open so leave me alone. I also am pretty sure this is geographically incorrect and I only included the cursive writing because my teacher and everyone else is a jerk who loves cursive. It's unreadable.

In Porquegon We Trust. (TUUUBES watercolor and pen)
I painted on a dollar for no reason. Yeah... I guess I'll give this a purpose by sticking it into a vending machine some day.

I guess I have a few arts to post.

CROW THING (watercolor pencils and tuuube watercolors)
This was another thing I had to do from my watercolor class. They wanted us to make like 12 small experimental paintings. This is the only one of mine I really liked. The background was done with watercolor pencils and the crow was done with ordinary tube paints. I was either watching The Crow or Pirate Radio when I did this, and if it was Pirate Radio then things are strange.

TODR COVER ART FOR PIRATES (mechanical pencil)
I burned a copy of ToDR for my brother and decided to make cover art for it. I thought it was kind of cute, and now that the surprise is over for the one it was a surprise for, I feel I can post it.

SANDLOT GAME COVER ART FOR PIRATES (mechanical pencil)
Same story as the above one, except the game in question was Remote Control Dandy SF. The description is extremely accurate. In fact, so is the robot design reminiscent of a phone. What a game.

And just in case people didn't ever look at the DRAW MY THING thread... I'll post these here too.

Moustachio Wooper vs. Math Textbook (tubey watercolors and brush pen or whatever)
From Rai's drawing prompt: "A math textbook is crying. Someone/thing else is yelling at it something like, 'Stop crying! Your problems aren't even real problems!'" I really liked how this turned out. Except the tree. The tree was poop. Also, don't use brush pens when you can just use normal pens. That was like the stupidest thing I've ever done.

Angry/sleep-deprived/drugged Hungry Caterpillar vs. Math Textbook (shittiest crayons ever)
From the same drawing prompt. The crayons I used were Hungry Caterpillar crayons so it seemed appropriate, but it was enraging to use them because they were completely horrible and I already hated high-quality crayons to begin with. Which is probably why the caterpillar's expression turned out so magnificently perfect. Also, the textbook in question, for those who can't read, is "Algebro 80th Edition."
