okay, so basically, my favorite myths are either Roman or Greek. even Norse myths fill my tummy. so for an absolutely boring starter,

in Greek Myth, the Giants ruled the lands long before Gods did. they went around, doing this and that. but one day, the Gods came about and they sort of had a fight. the Giants were beaten and their kin slain. the Gods then took the corpse of the largest giant. they turned his body parts into what is this earth and his kin were forced underground (or somewhere).

so eventually, the Gods decided that they needed care takers for this new world they just created. and thus, the care takers were made.

Homosapiens were born. voila.

there are other myths for the creation of the world and the being of humans, but i'll leave those for later.

i'll probably find out more than i already know, and the names of Gods, familiar or not, will be popping about occasionally.

That's off-topic. And yeah, Norse and Greek myths can be fascinating sometimes.

But Zeus is just... weird.

anyways,

Thor, the god of lightning. he is the son of Odin and has two other brothers, Loki and....and....Balder. ew. bald.

anyways, he wields his legendary hammer and goes around smiting foes with his hammer. nuff said bout it.

one story goes around that once, he had to dress up as a girl to get his hammer back. but that'll have to be for later ^^

Go look up Norse Mythology and find Sleipnir or just look up Sleipnir on Wikipedia, it should give you the story XDD

Achilles

said to be the strongest trojan fighter of them all. he was born when his mother, a god, married and screwed with a mortal man. they said his mother soaked him into some holy river water or some sort to make him invulnerable to any attack. she held him by the ankle, and dipped him in, thus, his ankle was the only part exposed to danger.

it was also the part which was shot by an arrow in battle and caused his death.

and voila. the part which was shot is now known as "the Achilles tendon"

strange, though. i always thought it was because Achilles was smart enough not to run into a sword.
