Did any of you peeps know that you have to have Aran Doll in order to get Upola Statue?

On my test save game, I gave my Aran Doll to Molan and spent hours resetting my GBA in order to get the Upola Statue in Tetyth... nope, no statue. Finally, in my second playthrough, I brought the Aran Doll to Tetyth and fish out an Upola Statue in my first try.

So much for the time I've wasted v_v'

Unfortunately, it seems that I can catch the Upola statue with all three states of the Aran Doll. This does not mean that the event doesn't have anything to do with the Upola statue, but just hacking the Doll won't be enough to do it.

huh? darn! I was in the forest where you find that doll earlier today, but didn't get it. Oh well, guess I'll have to try and get that Upola statue on my 8th playthrough.

Each item has up to four states. The first one is "unexistent", the second is usually "initial" and the third and fourth depend on the item and may not even exist.

Aran Doll's second state is when you get it. Its third is when you give it to Molan. It does not have a fourth state.

Look at the Event Items guide at GameFAQs.
