1) It could be like the items you can only get if you don't play through a map again after losing.

2) There might be a turn limit. EX: get to the point where the Mjollni# changes under, say, 500 turns from the beginning of the game.

It's not.

I've only gotten Mjollnir once, and I really don't know what I did different from other playthroughs that might have made it appear. I guess it's just pure luck...

The theory goes that if you pick Roswell, you get Mjollnir. I picked Roswell and got Mjollnir.
The theory goes that if you play as Rosary, you get Mjollnil. I picked Roswell so I don't know.
Did anyone pick Rosary and get Mjollnir?

I have a GBA save state file (for emulator) for my playthrough with all battlefields. I think the mods don't want me posting it though because save state = emulation = illegal. To get around the rules, you could make save games (for PSP) with your playthrough. You could try BF34 (is that when you get it?) multiple times and see if you get Mjollnir/Mjollnir different times.

There goes that theory.
*wonders* Is it set when you get the ??????? item (thing the lost material turns into)? What if you replay BF41 multiple times? Has anyone replayed BF41 more than once with the same save file and gotten both Mjollnir and Mjollnil?

Does anyone have "Yggdra Union Strategy Guide" (Japanese - applies to PSP version)? Does the guide say anything about how to get Mjollnir/Mjollnil?

Neither of the strategy guides say how to get it (the GBA one doesn't even MENTION it because it's apparently a spoiler to spoilerific for a video game guide), nor do any of the wikis.

How stupid do you have to be to post ways to get around rules on the board with the rules?

Currently playing Yggdra and the last item I need is Mjollnil... I can't get it for 2nd walkthrough. I restarted BF 41 for 5 times, but it's still Mjollnir. *sigh* maybe I should load save before I crafted ????????.... Or maybe.... somehow it is determined before you start the game. Besides. I took Roswell 2 times and bouth got Mjollnir. I NEED MJOLLNIL. Just calculating where should I load the save :D

It seems to be determined as soon as you get the item.
I'm going to harbor a guess and say it depends on the stats of the person who picks it up. Try Milanor with Mermaid Fin and Nietzsche for picking it up and see if they differ.

Of course, I'm going to call Kylier the wild card on that.
