My sister works at an unemployment agency, helping people find jobs. So she has this client (let's call her Jill), asking for financial help for her job interview. My sister gives her a petrol voucher and some money. Anyway, after work she went out shopping. Suddenly, WHAT THE FUCK HER PURSE IS MISSING. Jill had stolen her purse. By the time she found out her credit card had racked up over $1000. Now this is where it kicks into overdrive.
She filed a police report, giving all the details of her client. Yes, that's right. Jill stole from a person who not only tried to help her, but knowing all of her personal details too. Here's the real kicker. In order for further investigation to continue, there needs to be some kind of evidence that it was stolen by this person. Lo and behold, someone at the agency (let's call him Bob) saw Jill looking through my sister's drawer. He did not say a fucking thing until after all this happened. Real wonderful eh?
Anyway, not only the credit card was in the purse, there was practically everything else minus the passport. License, ATM card, health insurance card. Everything. Half the stuff bought was clothes, no clue what the other half is. I do know about $100 worth was spent at various petrol stations. I have to say it's really hard to stand on the sidelines being unable to do anything aside from this, but the police does sympathize with what just happened and took a special interest in this (The people living across from us are crazy and are always causing domestic disturbances). I'll keep you guys updated on anything later that unfolds. Tomorrow, my sister is going to get a printed bank statement of the credit card usage at time of stolen and some more card cancelling.
