I am sick of Metroid fanfics that do Samus wrong.

Important things to know when writing fan fiction with Samus

What does Samus spend her time doing?

Killing space monsters and traveling the depths of space, completely alone, BY CHOICE! Unlike many other video game heroes that are forced to separate from others, Samus's isolation is completely voluntary.

Why?

they were killed by Space Pirates and Ridley, which Samus now spends a majority of her time killing. not sure if revenge is one of her goals though, because she's such an emotionless killing machine that you can never really tell what she's thinking when she vaporizes their brains.

Often, while Samus is in her suit, she is mistaken for a man, why is this?

Because of the way she carries herself. She's so completely HARDCORE SERIOUS, that even the faintest traces of feminine daintiness have been totally wiped from her subconscious. Her resolve is so completely steady that it extends out to even her most subtitle movements.
If anything, she should be the most emotionally retracted characters ever. She was orphaned when she was very young, and grew up not around other humans, but a weird race of bird people. If anything, when she interacts with other humans she should seem almost alien, especially considering that even in her adult life, that's what she spends most of her time around.

It's nice to see someone who understands Samus as a character. However this doesn't make it any more on topic. Closed
