Gott ist ein Popstar - Oomph!

Lyrics (original AND an English translation).

I'm not going to say much because I don't want anyone to expect something amazing and then be really disappointed if they don't like it. I'll just say that I like it.

Neat, I can see why you like it. Kind of catchy... >_>

Its a bit softer than what I'm used to by Oomph!, not that that's necessarily bad. Considering I don't usually like bands with Industrial elements within them mostly these days, Oomph! mainly wins me over due to the vocals, and this is no exception, the chorus here is a perfect example. Its a bit weak, if not for the vocals. Its a fairly good song overall, but wayyy far from their best.

7/10

Oomph! - Gott ist ein Popstar
Posted by Rhia

I knew it was coming, since Rhia was supposed to open the thing up, and she intended to use this song. However, due to complications that no longer exist apparently, we now have our hands on our initial opening song. Rhia opens us up with a simple statement, stating that she would rather not go into detail about the song because it would make it seem as if its really great and then it'd be a letdown to people, so she merely says that she likes it.

While I have nothing against Rhia, I find that opening statement a bit discouraging, since I like to know what I'm getting myself into, and all we really have to base that on is a German name.

Onto the song itself, GieP is a track with industrial insturmentation with German lyrics. I feel like the insturmentation outside of the chorus is kind of pale/bland which gets slightly better as the song goes on, but the chorus is truly the pinnacle of the track. Even though I can't understand German at all and I haven't looked at the lyrics, I feel a more unique vibe from the chorus than any other part of the song.

Really, to be fair, I'm not familiar with industrial music so I don't have anything to compare it to, really, but I enjoyed it. Mostly.

Score: 7/10

I have nothing witty to say about how neutral I am to this song.

Cannibal Corpse - Make them Suffer

Lyrics
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

So I recently FINALLY got a copy of Cannibal Corpse's latest album, Kill. Anyone who is skeptical about Cannibal Corpse needs to hear the music off Kill. It's so damn technical that I would never have even thought it came from Cannibal Corpse. They even have guitar solos in it. Their new sound is way more mature and overall better than anything they've put out in the past.

OH YEAH, BASS SOLOS TOO <3

So yeah, I had a really hard time trying to pick a song from Kill for this. Eventually I decided to pick Make Them Suffer, as the bass kick at 0:30ish won it over. Corpsegrinder's vocals have only gotten better ( how many people can sing words like "Entirely demoralized and close to Mass Extinction, and make it fit with a rhythm thats destroying your brain with total intensity?) as I mentioned before, the technicality within the music has improved substantially, the breakdown is mind bombing, and its MOTHERFUCKING BRUTAL.

Brutality + Technicality = Awesome.

So yeah. I sincerely doubt anyone's going to like it anyway, but enjoy it.

Repetitive noise. I don't like it.

I'm sorry, but you expected this anyways! Also, where the heck was the bass solo?

It's like there's a party in my ears and everyone is standing on the wall staring awkwardly at each other! Very dull.

Oh, and if it weren't for the lyrics guide, I would have no idea what the fuck is being said. I don't like that at all.

Cannibal Corpse - Make them Suffer

Normally I like this kind of music. But this is rather on the "subjective torture" side. The bass kick was awesome though, and because I could understand some of the lyrics, I'll approve.

6/10- not the best, but not the worst.
