DHE World Guidance Translations, for people who Japan not good Options

Since PPA's been PPA, we now have access to the World Guidance book and will be working on translating passages of interest. They'll be posted here(in later posts, since keeping them together won't fit).

THE BOOK LIKES TO USE A BUNCH OF WORDS THAT MEAN THE SAME THINGS AS OTHER WORDS AND I'M MORE SURE NOW ABOUT WHAT WORDS I SHOULD BE USING BUT I'M LEAVING THIS SECTION HERE JUST IN CASE ANYONE HAS ANY COMMENTS:

神々-'the gods.' We all know who they are, but for whatever reason, everyone in the games talks about them like they're still alive, even though they died back in Ragnarok(every game takes place after it). If "the gods" shows up in something talking about stuff after Ragnarok, it probably just means the Magi. If it shows up when talking about the people that made the surface worlds and stuff, it's the gods. They're apparently computers.

守護天使-'guardian angel.' The Heaven's Gate entry thinks this is "Archangel," but Kitten used the term once(supposedly).

地上-'above ground,' the plane of existence that the surface worlds(地上世界) exist in, so it's the surface. You could think of it as a big ring/shell that wraps around the underworld(which is infinite...maybe it actually wraps around the heavens :U), with Asgard on the other side.

冥府-directly translates as 'hades' or 'realm of the dead.' By now it's obvious that the games use "the underworld" as its meaning, but it apparently doesn't describe the entire place.

魔界-'demonworld', this is the whole place, but it's rarely spoken about. I'm pretty sure Zolgonark/Hades just owns most of it, so a lot of it falls under his name. I'M GOING TO CALL IT UTGARD BECAUSE IT'S THE OPPOSITE OF SHINKAI/ASGARD

魔神-'demon gods'. The book calls Zorgy one, but I don't think they have a proper title yet in the localized games. I don't think any others have appeared in the series yet.

魔物-'demonthings', seems to fit with what everyone calls "demons." It even mentions Slimes and Skeletons. THOSE ARE TOTALLY DEMONS. This looks like the term they use when referring to tangible ones.

魔族-'demontribes,' shows up when they talk about demons as a species/race/whatever.

Japan loves adding title and whatnot to their names, but English takes up way more space, so the localizations usually drop them unless they're being silly and using extra words. Some of the localized titles are slightly different from what Japan used, but I think I left everything as their English equivalents.

For whatever reason Japan can't stick to just quotations or brackets or parentheses, so I'll be copying whatever they do for the appropriate words/phrases in the translations. Omittableyetstillkindofimportantwords will go in [] brackets inside the sentences, and stuff in parentheses past the period are just my notes on how silly sounding or confusing the passage/sentence was.

Demon Dragon Brongaa and Mounain Worshipping Religion (魔竜ブロンガと山岳信仰)

ネシアの強大な魔力に惹きつけられて地上に現れ、世界に深刻な被害を与えた上位魔族が「魔竜ブロンガ」の正体だ。
ネシアは、ブロンガの存在が神々の地上介入を招くことを恐れ、１人の青年に ”勇者ギル” の言の葉の力を授けてこれを鎮圧させた。
ギルとブロンガの最終決戦の地となった地では、土着の山岳信仰とブロンガの存在が結びつき、魔竜を荒ぶる神とみなす信仰が始まる。
ブロンキア帝国の始祖は、この信仰心を皇族の血筋に向かわせて人心を掌握し、一大帝国を築くことになる。

The Demon Dragon Brongaa was drawn to Nessiah's incredible magical abilities, and materialized in the surface world to wreak havoc.
Nessiah, fearing the dragon's presence would cause the gods to intervene, granted a youth known as "The Hero Gill" his power of words in order to subjugate it.
The land around Gill and Brongaa's final battle was full of indigenous mountain-worshipping people, who came to regard the dragon as a malevolent god in their faith.
The Bronquian Empire's founder carried this religious piety through the royal family, leading the empire to flourish.
(long and full of words, but most of the meaning should be there. I don't really know what they want from "mountain worshipping religious people", and I can't remember what the people in Lost Aries were called)

Q: リヴィエラの主人公、エクセルが「最強のディヴァイン」を使いこなせた&与えられたのはなぜでしょうか?
A: 告死天使とディヴァインには相性があります。いくら高性の会わない告死天使(たとえ優秀であったとしても)が手にした場合には、まったくといっていいほど性能を引き出せないのです。有効利用できないだけでなく、告死天使自身やディヴァインそのものに悪影響をもたらすことさえあるのです。
エクセルが能力の劣る告死天使でありながら、最強と謳われるディヴァインを与えられたのも、親和性が優れていたことが認められたからに他なりません。

Q: Why was the "strongest Diviner" bestowed upon Ein, Riviera's protagonist?
A: There is (needs to be?) compatibility between a Grim Angel and Diviner. [sentence i'm not sure i understood right, basically means it doesn't matter how awesome a Grim Angel is; it won't get the maximum potential out of a Diviner without having affinity with it]. Not only will the Diviner's maximum power be unavailable, but it brings about a bad influence on the Grim Angel and Diviner in question. Although Ein's abilities are inferior to other Grim Angels, the strongest and celebrated Diviner was bestowed upon him because his affinity excelled (get it) over others.

Q: 女神ウルスラが守護聖獣アガルタを召喚・使役できたのはなぜでしょうか?
A: アガルタはかつて(リヴィエラがかつて冥府の領域であった時代)インフェルノスだったのですが、神々による浄化により、魔性を失いました。かつての力は失いましたが、アガルタはリヴィエラに残り、リヴィエラの守護者であるウルスラに使役されることとなりました。アガルタはエクセルによって倒されたものの、その媒体に地底のハデスゲートから魔性が流入し、再び、インフェルノスとして復活することとなりました(かつての姿とは多少異なりましたが……)。

Q: Why was the goddess Ursula able to summon and use the Holy Beast, Aghart?
A: Aghart was once(during the time Riviera was part of the underworld) an Accursed, but due to the purification from the gods(either purifying Aghart or Riviera as a whole?), it/he/she lost its/his/her demonic energy.
Its/his/her former power was lost, but Aghart remained in Riviera, and was employed by its guardian Ursula.
Aghart was defeated because of Ein, the evil energy flowed in(to Aghart?) from the Hades Gate in the depths of the earth, and once again, it/he/she had become an Accursed(in a somewhat different form, but...).

Q: 冥府の王ゾルゴナークが、リヴィエラで「冥王ハーデス」として出てきた経緯をお願いします。
A: 冥府は(神界と同様に)地上世界の下で広く繋がっており、ハデスゲートを使うことで地上世界のどこにでも出現できます。そして、インフェルノスにはその力があります。神界側はマリエッタがユグドラとナイツで同様のこと(=ヘヴンズゲートを介して異なる地上世界に降臨すること)をやってのけていますので、冥府にもそれを行ったキャラクターを1体は出しておいて、”神界と冥府の狭間にある幾多の地上世界”という「Dept.Heavn Episode」の構造を実際のゲーム上で一応示しておきたかったというのが理由です。
実際に、リヴィエラにおけるハーデス(ゾルゴナークの末期)については、シナリオ上重要ではありません。ゲーム的には強い隠しボスであれば良かったのでした。
ちなみに、ナイツでマリアなどに退治されてしまったENDではリヴィエラには繋がりません。

Q: Please give the details as to how the lord of the underworld, Zolgonark, appears as Hades in Riviera.

A: The underworld(similarly to Asgard) is connected beneath every surface world, and the Hades Gate can be used to travel/appear anywhere on them.
Infernos have that power.(?)
Asgard's Marietta did the same for YU and Kitten(Heaven's Gate can be used to get to various surface worlds), so a single person could do the same from the underworld, because the DHE games were tentatively decided to have "many surface worlds between Asgard and the underworld."(?)

Currently, concerning the Hades(Zolgonark on his deathbed) in regards to Riviera, it doesn't have a big impact on the story.
It was good to have a powerful secret boss.
By the way, Riviera was not related to the 'Maria and friends being eliminated' end from Kitten.(?)

4-What the heck is Hector doing?

Q: 神々がリヴィエラに残した叡智と力=神罰というストーリーでしたが、ヘクターが神罰を「発動」させるというのは、結局どのようなことを意味していたのでしょうか?
A: ヘクター(ゴート)が目論んでいた神罰は、神々の残した神罰というのはその存在のみが言い伝えられており、それゆえ(憶測を含んだ上での)抑止力として機能していました。ゴートが目をつけたのは、神々が密かにリヴィエラに隠蔽したとされるセトの力を手に入れることでした。
この話自体はよくある話で、徳川埋蔵金やネッシーくらいの眉唾モノで、ゴートのほかのメンバーも知りえていたことですが、ヘクターはその後、セトに掛けられた”ウルスラ”というセーフティの存在を知り、この事象について信憑性を高めていったのでした。なお、ウルスラとセトはどちらかが消えると、もう一方も消えてしまうと言われています。
果たして、ヘクターの企みは実現し、「聖魔セト」の力を自ら取り込んで新たな神になろうと目論みましたが、魔性が完全に目覚めてしまう前に、エクセルと精霊たちに倒されてしまうのでした(これはヘクターの誤算です)。

Q: It's said that the gods left their wisdom and power behind and called it the Retribution, yet Hector means to "invoke" the Retribution, what did this mean in the end?

A: As for Hector's(the Magi's) planning the Retribution, they were the only ones told about the Retribution, for that reason (as was speculated) it was functioning as a deterrent.(?)
The Magi kept an eye on it, to obtain the power of Seth that the gods had hidden within Riviera.(?)

This is a familiar story, like the fake 'tokugawa gold reserves' or the loch ness monster; the other members of the Magi are also aware of this, but afterwards, Hector obtained knowledge of Seth's guardian being "Ursula", which gave this matter credibility. Furthermore, if either Seth or Ursula vanish, the other will vanish as well.

As expected, Hector's plans were realized, and he intended to become a new god with Seth's powers, but before this devilish thing could completely awaken, Ein and the Sprites knocked him down(a miscalculation by Hector).
(I don't think I got the first paragraph entirely right...)

1-IS MILANOR A KING?!

Q: ユグドラに出てくる「古代種」という種族(先住民)についてですが、「ユグドララジオ」にて「ミラノは古代種の王の末裔」という裏設定が明かされましたが?
A: ラジオやドラマCDではコンテンツとしての面白さを最優先していますので、こちらはファンコンテンツの位置づけで、ifのエピソードとして楽しんでいただければと思います(設定を検証しながら作成すると、アドリブの楽しさが損なわれてしまいますので……)。
ただ、ミラノは古代種の王の末裔という噂もありますが、事実を確かめる術はありません。ロストアリエスの生まれであることには違いないようですが……。

Q: It's about the race called "Vanir"(former inhabitants?) that appeared in Yggdra Union, was it revealed in the "YU Radio" that "Milanor is the descendant of the king of the Vanir"?
A: The point of the radio and drama CDs is to have fun, in the same way as fan content, so I think it should be enjoyed as an "if episode"(because taking time to verify the script would take the fun out of ad-lib).
There are rumors Milanor is their descendant, but there's no way to tell for sure.
There's no mistake that his birthplace is Lost Aries, but...

2 - About Yggdra/Luciana/Aegina

Q: ゲーム中でははっきりと語られなかった「ユグドラ、アイギナ、ルシエナ三姉妹」について、誕生と放逐、そして姉妹の再会のエピソードについて教えてください。
A: アイギナ、ルシエナについてはユグドラより先に生まれ、本来であれば王位を継承する者であったのですが、双子であったため、忌み子として捨てられたところを帝国に捨われ、英才教育を受けて育ちました。
王国としては王族の血を引く双子の存在はとにかく残しておきたくないでしょうし、帝国としても、ファンタジニア王家の者を育てていたことは極秘にしていたため、この双子に関する記述については、史実としてほとんど残っていないと思われます。ただ、アンケートなど、ゲームをプレイされた方の意見で続編みたいなものを遊びたいという意見も多いので、そういったタイトルを作る機会があれば、そのあたりクローズアップされるかもしれませんが……。

Q: In-game, we weren't given specifics about "the three sisters Yggdra, Aegina, and Luciana," so please tell use about their birth, expulsion, and reunion.
A: Aegina and Luciana were born before Yggdra, and by all rights should have been the heirs to the throne. But because they were twins, they were labeled as children of taboo, and cast out. The empire took them in, and they were brought up with special education(the good kind).
As for the kingdom, it seems the existence of the twins was not made known to the royal family, nor the empire, because the Fantasinian royal family(wait what?) raised them in secret, and no historical facts appear to remain about the twins.
However, from questionnaires and the like, there are many people that want to play a sequel/continuation, so if there was a chance to make one, maybe we could close up that topic...

3 - What's up with the new PSP ending?

Q: PSP版にて守護天使を倒し神界へ侵攻したことがきっかけとなり、神界戦争へと発展したという流れですが、公式的な解釈はどのようなエンディングが正史なのでしょうか?
A: マリエッタに聖剣を渡し、叡智の杖を得るのが正史という位置づけです。
「Dept.Heaven Episode」の設定においては、基本的に新規ナンバリング制作時にのみ、手を加えるようにしています。
つまり、リヴィエラだとWS版、ユグドラだとGBA版、ナイツはDS版となります。
ほかのものは自分がほとんど開発に携わっていないならよく分からない……というのが本音なのですが(笑)、実際にそれらの制作を担当するディレクターやチームがゲームとして面白いと判断して、変えたり付け足したりして作っていく部分については全面的に信頼し、自分は基本的に口を出さないようにしています。
それがたとえ、「Dept.Heaven Episode」に付随する設定に抵触するものであっても、です。
というのも、タイトルを超えて存在する多くの設定の縛りを最優先するあまり、ゲームのアレンジのアイディアに多くの制約を作ろうとするうえで得策でないと考えています。
なので、ユーザーさんが不快と思われる変更や矛盾で無い限りは、設定面での縛りはリメイクや続編、外伝的なタイトルの制作においてはあまり考慮せず、自由に弄れるようにしています。
ミラノとユグドラが戦ったりする『ユグドラ・ユニゾン』などは、その最たるものかもしれませんね(笑)。

Q: In the PSP version you can defeat the Guardian Angel and invade Asgard, and it's called the "Asgard War", but what is the canon ending?
A: The official ending is when you deliver the sword to Marietta, and receive the Scepter of Wisdom.
The DHE setting is basically only adjusted when it comes time to create a new entry.
That is, the Riviera WSC version, the YUGBA version, and the Knights DS version.
I don't really know about the things I'm not involved in...is my real answer(laughs), but in general the judgement for the game design is left to the directors and teams, and I generally trust their alterations and additions, so I don't involve myself in the conversation/discussions.
Now that you mention it, we have come across conflicts in the DHE setting.
Because, we don't have a very high priority on the beings that tie together the titles, as it's not conducive to good planning to create a lot of restrictions.
Since players would be uncomfortable with modifications and contradictions, we try to make as few as possible; we don't really take making remakes, continuations and sidestorytype titles into consideration, so we're making sure we're able to freely change things around.
Milanor and Yggdra fighting in YZ and whatnot might be the most extreme case(laughs).

神々の力が及ばない無限の混沌領域、それが冥府だ。
その実態は謎に包まれているが、あらゆる法則が混乱した雑多な世界であり、地上や神界の常識が通じない場所であることは間違いない。
ただ、強者が弱者の上に立つという理は冥府でも不変で、魔神と呼ばれる絶大な力を持った存在により、ある種の秩序を持った集団が形成されることは多い。
過去、冥府において最大の勢力を誇った魔神が ”冥王” で、冥府の住人の間で長くくすぶっていた神界への侵攻の機運が、冥王統治のもとで高まった結果、自身の支配欲が触発されて「神魔戦争」へと突入したのだ。
本能的な欲求の爆発が開戦のきっかけだったため、初期の侵攻は無計画に行われたが、後に冥府側も冥王指揮のもと組織だって神界軍を攻撃。
最終的には「告死天使」を投入してきた神界軍に敗れたものの、神々を消滅させ、その脅威を神界全体へと知らしめることとなった。

The underworld is the infinite chaotic domain where the power of the gods does not reach.
Its true nature is shrouded in mystery, but this crazy world has crazy rules, and there is no doubt that they do not follow the normal behavior of Asgard/the surface worlds.
Nevertheless, they have always held stronger(peopleish) above weaker(peeps), and the demon gods possessing tremendous power had many methods to control the masses.
In the past, the demon god that boasted the strongest influence became the "Ruler of the Underworld"; the inhabitants of the underworld had a lengthy debate about the opportunity to invade Asgard, and the king of hell rose to power as a result, rushing into "Ragnarok" due to his greed.
As the war was started by an outburst of desire, it was initially unsuccessful, but after a while the king of hell solidified his command and struck at Asgard's forces.
Finally, the "Grim Angels" were dispatched to the unsuccessful Asgard army, the gods were annihilated, and the threat was made known to the entirety of Asgard.
(okay, fourth sentence went a bit overboard so I tried to separate it nicely, so some things might sound a little durr. No real translation confusion though)

Demon Gods (魔神)

魔神とは、冥府において最上位に冠される称号で、高い知性と何らかの思想（野望）、そして圧倒的な力を兼ね備え、部下を従えて大規模な集団を組織しているものを指す。
彼らは神界の神々に匹敵する実力と知識、大局観などを待っているが、神々と決定的に異なるのは魔神同士が思想を共有しているわけではなく、魔神間の勢力争いも頻繁に起きているということだ。
魔神を含めた冥府の住人のなかに、神界に対して友好的な姿勢を見せるものはほぼ皆無だが、自らの利害のために神界側に加担するケースは見受けられる。

冥府では魔神が知性を失ってインフェルノスに堕したり、逆にインフェルノスが力を蓄えて魔神化するといったことも起ころ。
これは秩序が不変な神界では起こりえない、冥府ならではの逆転現象だといえるだろう。
また、冥府と関割ってしまったがために、神界側の存在がインフェルノスと化してしまったという事例もある。

Demon gods: given the highest ranking title in the underworld, they have high intelligence and aspire to anything(?), combined with overwhelming strength, refers to someone that organizes a large-scale group of subordinates/minions.
Their strength and knowledge are comparable to Asgard's gods, they seem to be waiting/things seem the same, however they don't join together to decide things with their fellow demon gods, and it appears there is frequent dissension amongst themselves.
Demon gods are included in the residents of the underworld, and hold almost no positive feelings toward Asgard, however there are naturally advantages and disadvantages to observing the areas of Asgard.(????)

Demon gods may lose intelligence and degenerate into Accursed(probably all those wild college parties), and conversely it's possible for Accursed to build up power and become demon gods(growing those beards out).
This system could not occur in the unchanging Asgard, it seems to be a phenomenon unique to the underworld.
Also, because of the effect of the underworld, there have been cases of beings in Asgard transforming into Accursed.

(I believe the Hades CG is for the demon god bit, and Archangel being the example of a being from Asgard turned Accursed)

Demons Appearing in Surface Worlds (地上に現れる魔物)

いわゆる魔物の多くは、冥府から飛来したり、禁呪を用いて召喚されることで地上へと現れる。
それ以外のケースとしては、魔の瘴気や呪い、魔神との契約などにより、地上の存在が魔物化することもある。

As for many of the so-called(?) demons, THEY COME FLYING OUT OF THE UNDERWORLD, and will appear in surface worlds if summoned using a forbidden curse.
Aside from that, through evil miasma, curses, or a contract with a demon god, surface world inhabitants can become demons.

Hades Gate (ハデスゲート)

冥府と地上の行き来は、基本的にハデスゲートを介する以外に方法はない。
単純に冥府側の存在が地上の侵攻を目論む場合、このハデスゲートを通過すればいいのだが、ゲートの構築は異なる次元を結びつけつということでもあるので、仮に冥府との”概念的距離”が近い場所を選んだとしても、並大抵の魔神ですらゲートを開通させることは容易ではないのだ。

Fundamentally, travel between surface worlds and the underworld is only possible through a Hades Gate.
In the case of the denizens of the underworld simply planning an invasion of the surface worlds, if they wish to pass through this/these gate/s, since the gates must be constructed by being connected to a different dimension, even if the "conceptual distance" from the chosen place to the underworld is shortened, it's not a simple task for ordinary demon gods to open the gate/s.
(I have no idea what they were trying to get at and I'm not familiar with surebaiino and junk, so let's just say that it's not an easy task invading the surface worlds)

(They have images of Mireno Cemetery's black rock hidden area, and that giant magic rock that the zombie dragon was on. I'm assuming that means that's where the Hades/Chaos Gate is.)

The Underworld as seen from Asgard (神界から見た冥府)

神界にとって、混沌の冥府は理解はもちろん、予測も不可能な領域となる。
それゆえに神界は冥府を危険視しており、常時守護天使をはじめとする天使たちに監視を命じており、ハデスゲートの構築阻止や干渉の兆候を調べる探索をいっている。
ただでさえ困難なゲート構築は、神界側からの妨害があった場合、力を持った魔神でもほぼ不可能となるのだ。
逆にいうと、一度ハデスゲートが開通してしまった際は、地上だけでなく神界もそれ相応の被害を受けることになり。
地上世界には必ずハデスゲートの対となるヘヴンズゲートが存在しており、これが冥府の存在により遮断、破壊された場合、その世界は神界の管理を離れて冥府の支配領域となってしまう。
過去に起こった神魔戦争は、それらゲートの構築と破壊を双方で繰り返した、地上の奪い合いという側面もあったのだ。

While Asgard may comprehend(?) the underworld, it's impossible to predict.
For that reason, they regard it as dangerous, and post angels(including Guardian Angels) to observe it constantly, watching for signs of interference and preventing the construction of Hades Gates.
Building gates is difficult even under normal conditions, there have been cases of disturbances in areas around Asgard/from Asgard's areas, the reason is that demon gods make it almost impossible.(I don't know if they're talking about demon gods making it difficult to build Heaven's Gates, if demon gods are making it difficult to prevent the building of Hades Gates, or if demon gods just can't do it; someone fix this sentence please)
On the contrary/conversely(not sure why this is here), Asgard would be damaged in addition to the surface once Hades Gate is opened.
In surface worlds, there is always a Heaven's Gate opposite the Hades Gate, which is similarly targeted by the beings of the underworld. In cases of its destruction, the world is cut off from Asgard's control, and falls under the underworld's domain.
This happened in the time of Ragnarok, where these gates were destroyed and rebuilt by both sides, in a scramble for more territory on the surface.

Dept. Heaven Race List : 4 The Accursed (種族名鑑：４ インフェルノス)

インフェルノスとは冥府において強力な力を身につけたものの総称で、厳密には特定の種族を指す言葉ではなく、魔神に次ぐ高位魔族に対する一種の称号である。
インフェルノスは大きく２つのタイプに分けられており、１つは魔神に近い力を持ちつつも彼らに従っているもの。
もう１つは魔神に匹敵、もしくはそれを凌駕する能力を持ちながら、魔神たり得る知性を持ち合わせていないものだ。
大半は前者のタイプで、そのなかには神が告死天使を生み出すように、魔神が自らの肢体をもとに作り出したものや、アークエンジェルのように、まったく別の世界の存在が、魔神との関わりによってインフェルノスとして力を与えられたものもいる。
リヴィエラに封印されていた４体のインフェルノスは、いずれも一定以上の知性を持ちつつ、魔神に従うタイプに属している。

The Accursed: not a term for any specific race, but the title given to beings that acquire incredible power in the underworld; a step down from demon gods.
Accursed can be split into two general types, one of them being subjugated despite having power near that of a demon god.
The other type have power rivaling or surpassing that of demon gods, but they just aren't as smart as them.
The majority are the first type, with those among them being comparable to the Grim Angels, demon gods having used parts of their own bodies to make them. Or as with Archangel, a being from a completely different world, yet they gained power by connecting/bonding/hanging out with a demon god and became an Accursed.
As for the four Accursed sealed in Riviera, while they all possess a certain level of intelligence, they fall under the demongodfollowing type.

「ナイツ・イン・ザ・ナイトメア」の世界は、リヴィエラのような特別なところではなく、”普通の”地上世界の１つだ。
その意味では「ユグドラ・ユニオン」の世界に近いといえる。
しかし「ユグドラ」の世界は国家がほぼ民族単位で形成されていたのに対して、「ナイツ」の主な舞台となるグレイヴニル騎士王国は多民族国家であり、国内に民族問題を抱えているという違いがある。

The world of Kitten is one of the "normal" surface worlds, not special like Riviera's.
That means that it's close to Yggdra Union's.
However, YU's world was based on a single ethnicity, where Kitten's Gleivnir Knights Kingdom is a multi-ethnicity setting, which is experiencing internal racial differences.
The friction between the indigenous peoples and the current ruling class has become a major point in the story.

騎士王国は、古くから民族移動の影響を受けてきた島「セント・セレスティナ」に、大陸側から移動してきたエルヴァール人の騎士団が建てた国家だ。
建国の経緯と、その後のエルヴァール人優遇政策ゆえ、一部の先住民族は政権に良い感情を持っていない。
この問題を改善すべく、ウィリムガルト王は過去の方針を改め、異民族融和政策を推進していた。

The Knights Kingdom is a nation built on Saint Celestina Island, a land influenced by ancient immigrants, by a group of Elvale knights that migrated from the mainland.(I think it was trying to say that the island has a history of being changed by new people arriving)
The indigenous people are not happy with the ruling power, the circumstances of the nation's founding, or the Elvale-favoring policies that followed.
In order to remedy this problem, King Willimgard has changed the policies of the past to ones promoting racial unity.

The Racially Diverse Knights Kingdom (多民族国家である騎士王国)

The Elvale (エルヴァール人)

The Elvale are the kingdom's ruling class, and make up the core of the government.
They're a relatively recent addition to St. Celestina Isle.

The island's indigenous people, they were subjugated around/shortly after the nation's forming, and given a middle class position.
Their name means "people illuminated by the moon."

Zolgonark's Invasion (冥王ゾルゴナークの来襲)

騎士団を壊滅させた魔族のゾルゴナークは、自らを”冥王”と称する魔神で、リヴリア・ダウタロス・スコッピオという３体のインフェルノスを従えてこの世界へ現れた。
なお、この冥王ソルゴナークは、「調停者」に敗れたあとリヴィエラへと逃れ、そこで”冥王ハーデス”として告死天使のエクセルと刃を交えることになる。
力の大半を失ったとはいえ、冥王の名は伊達ではなく、計り知れない底力を見せつけるのだ。

Zolgonark, a demon god that fashions himself as "Lord of the Underworld," appeared in this world with his three Accursed, Rivulia, Dautaros, and Scoppio(I don't remember their English names), and annihilated the knights orders.
After being defeated by the Arbitrator, Zolgonark fled to Riviera, where he would cross swords with Ein while known as "Hades, Lord of the Underworld."
Though he may have lost most of his strength, the title of 'Lord of the Underworld' is not just for show, and he displays immeasurable reserve strength.

Souls Lost Due to the Denizens of the Underworld (冥府の存在による魂の奪取)

王国の騎士たちは魔族に魂を奪われるが、この状態は「魂と肉体」が切り離されているだけで、厳密には”死”ではない。
そのため、仮初めであっても「魂」を入れることで再生させることが可能だが、この分離状態が続くと死に至ってしまう。
この魂の復帰による再生というものは、「リヴィエラ」でも行われた。

The souls of the knights are stolen by demons, but this condition is just the "body and soul" separating, and not quite "death."
For that reason, it's possible to ressurect someone by reinserting their soul(either the split state is only temporary, or the reinsertion can only be done temporarily), but remaining separated will lead to death.
This resurrection by returning the soul was also done in Riviera.

(There are images of the girls when they get their souls stolen by Malice, so I'm sure that's what it's referring to.)

神界とは地上世界を創造した神々と、その配下の者たちが住まう世界だ。
しかし、冥府軍との”神魔戦争”により神々は滅亡。
その後、”ゴートの七賢”が権限を掌握し、現在に至っている。
秩序と合理性に支配されたデジタルで無機質な匂いがする世界だが、七賢を含めた住民の大半は欲も情もあるヒューマノイドなので、神界といえども常に秩序が完璧に保たれているわけではない。
神界勢力の目的は、世界秩序の維持、および秩序に乱れをもたらす冥府勢力の排除である。
ただし、彼らは地上を厳格に縛ろうとしているわけではなく、地上の者たちが各自の世界で自由に振舞うことを認めている。
加えて、神界の独立性をできるだけ保ちたいという思惑もあり、冥府の侵攻など神界の不利益になる事態が起きない限り、地上には干渉しない。

Asgard: where the gods that created the surface worlds and their followers live.
However, the gods are gone/dead because of their battle("Ragnarok") with the forces of the underworld.
After that, the "Seven Magi" seized power, leading us to the present.
It's a robotic-smelling world that favors mechanical order and rationality rules blah blah blah. But the Magi were once part of the general citizens(Humanoids) that have feelings and cravings, so that doesn't mean Asgard's always running perfectly.
The main goal of Asgard's influence is the maintenance of world order, as well as removing the underworld's influence and changing disorder into order.
However, this doesn't mean they try to force the surface to behave. They're allowing each of them to act freely.
At the same time, they want them to maintain their independance from Asgard as much as possible. Barring an invasion by the underworld or the like that would put Asgard at a disadvantage, they don't interfere with the surface.
(some of this could probably sound better, but I'm tired)
