No. Implies.
And you can't take out the "beat" part. Otherwise it means something different as well as losing the implication. Unless, that's what you meant, that you had never, ever played it before.
In which case I don't believe you.

Well, I apologize since I gave out the wrong meaning then. What I MEANT to say was that before obtaining a hard personal copy of the game, I had never played it before, let alone beat it.

But, you've already said you don't believe that, so its in the air for you to nitpick, take apart, and attack with logical reasoning.

The item list for YU is way longer than in Riviera, and more than likely someone without a walkthrough won't complete the YU item list in their first two playthroughs seeing how there's so many tricky items in there. However in Riviera even the hardest items to obtain are still easier to get than half of the items in YU. In Riviera TP isn't a problem seeing how you have to fight almost everyone you meet resulting in a gain of TP, as well as a nice TP bonus at the end of each chapter. As for the items the enemies drop, they can all be obtained easily.

No, it's not.

No, they're not. The average YU player will hoard, and that's all that's really necessary to get the items in YU. That and stepping in the right place. In Riviera, there are trading sequences, trading sequences that may can make the rest of the game harder.

The only tricky item is the Four Leaf Clover, and Riviera also has a Four Leaf Clover - one that's harder to get.

What trading sequences are you talking about? None of them affected the game that much.

How do they make the rest of the game harder? Other than maybe that they take a few chapters to complete, but it's still not hard.

They clog your inventory, you have to go out of your way to get them.

I see how that could be annoying, or hard even.

But in YU, items where you need a total REP of a certain number can be difficult to get. Not to mention that STUPID DARK MATTER!! I forgot to trade it away once and in one of the desert BFs every town I stepped on the citizens kept saying to "get that evil thing away from me" among other things like that. *I missed out on a lot of good items then, yup, I sure did.*

The items where you require a certain amount of total REP are probably easier to get, just don't lose some battles.

This is, of course, kind of hard (in the first few chapters) given the nature of the first few chapters, but there arn't any items that require a total REP there, are there?

No, because you only need to win a certain amount of times or lose a certain amount of times.

That's the Skull Stone, not the Dark Matter.

In the first few chapters? Of course there are. There're the ones in Verlaine, in the Marduk Forest, Lost Aries...

Key Item, Key Item, a wand, two swords and a rapier, and Key Item.

I'm counting 222 for Riviera, 256 for YU (All Duds item doesn't count.)

Who do you trade the three bats to, then?

The three bats are key items. And you trade them to a fairy.

Is that with or without key items?

With. And since when are the bats key items? You can use them in battle.
