Musical Genres ARE based upon sound, technique and structure, but someone's views of the categorizing of these things can vary, sometimes massively, sometimes to a small degree, because people have different views on things. It comes down to what you personally believe is correct, whether its wrong or not, not what Wikipedia says, or what other people tell you is correct, even if they are. Saying a band is " So and So " and vehemently arguing on someone who has a slightly varied opinion is stupid. ( I realize I've done it, doesn't change the fact I think its stupid ) Point the flaws out to those who are really off in what they know, not the people who have a slightly different opinion. No, as to the ones that are way off. You agree with me that Static are Nu Metal. Its simply ONE WORD we clash over, and thats either Industrial Rock, or Metal. I have my opinion on the matter. You have yours. Neither of us will sway the other. So instead, we started picking at the very speech of our opponent to try to prove them wrong through other means. Which you would probably come out over top Sturm, but as I said, no matter what anyone says, its your own opinion at the end of the day. Live with it.
