But Riviera has full voice acting, jello sprites, more cg things etc. etc.

The sprites sucked, the extra dungeon was terrible, and the extra CGs were mostly useless. Did we really need an extra CG of Lina and Serene fighting? No. It was ridiculous.
Full voice acting, I can give you that. But in the grand scheme of things, none of the things you listed were worth $40 anyway. |

Riviera isn't as old as Chrono Trigger, and Sting are a MUCH smaller company compared to Square Enix.
You'd expect more out of them, but most people believe they effed up the FF3 and 4 remakes too.
