Lee Brotherton (Remix Factory) - Dreams of an Absolution
As background music goes, its not bad, but its not exactly impressive either. I wouldn't be able to listen to this purely by itself unless I had a real reason to ( such as now ), as it just feels extraordinarily bland and boring. I guess its good for what it is however, since most BGM from games I've played aren't usually outstanding.
Rating it as that, I give it 7/10
As an individual song, its a lot worse. The melody is extraordinarily cheesy and actually have difficulty trying to focus on not removing my attention from the song whatsoever. Vocalist just ultimately makes me imagine someone who looks far too camp on a cloud singing in Elvis Presley gear, while trying to dance to something like DDR. I can't see how this fits in with Sonic at all, it doesn't have enough ( sue me Rhia! ) oomph. In short, boring, annoying, and distinctively repelling.
I give it 3/10 as this.

Fumie Kutamani - Ukishima Posted by Tonfa
There's really not much I can truly say about this, aside from the fact that I am deeply disturbed that I'm agreeing with the majority here: This is rather boring. I mean, its nice background music for Phantasy Star Universe, but as a lone track, or for anything other than PSU even, it just doesn't quite cut the cake. While there is some insturmentational variation and complexity, like Asaph has said before me, its not enough to grasp my attention and keep hold of it.
That being said, this is probably my shortest review. It's most likely it WILL remain my shortest review. Tonfa shoots at a tough spot to hit, and misses by a milestone.
Score: 4/10
Edit: Truthfully, I really hated it. Even though I can trace my musical roots to video game music, I find this executed poorly. Good game, Tonfa, good game.
