June 8th Updates Options

A list of the "new" stuff:

• Riviera PSP sprites: Sheet packs.
• Riviera fanart: One piece from FlameSpark.
• Riviera icons: One from Liger, two from Martel, ten from Feral Phoenix.
• Riviera fanfics: Leyviur's "My Date With Cierra" and the final chapter of valkan's "New Year's Short Stories."
• Yggdra Union fanart: One piece from Buddhu, four pieces from FlameSpark, twelve from Feral Phoenix.
• Yggdra Union icons: Two from Liger, four from Martel, nine from Feral Phoenix.

Not much to say, except, I suppose, about the sheet packs. They are zips containing sheets and a text file explaining how to turn said sheets into animations. Except for the playable characters (Ein and the girls [Cierra, Serene, Lina, Fia and Ledah]) and the little emotion icons, all the sprites are named and organized as they are on the UMD, which is why you will find the sheet for Rose's human form in the objects zip, and why there is a blue version of the Aghart and a zombie version of Chappi. The earlier noted files are renamed as they are not found directly on the UMD, but in the game code. Thanks to Rai for figuring out the sprites.

Also, the English RiviPSP site is live. Go check it out. Apparently the manual included with first prints of the game will come with a special diorama. Yes. A diorama. The bonus dungeon lists "new foes and unexpected allies" which makes it even more enticing. The site also has Japanese and English voice samples and a few wallpapers.

Dunno, I think they just put it up this morning, I was checking for new updates on Persona 3 and saw that the side bar was updated with the Riviera Site.

I'm mixed on the voice acting, it's alright I guess...

The release date on the site says July 2007, hopefully it's an early July release.

Onion lied; a lot of voices have changed.
And I wouldn't judge the quality based on the site, the actual sound quality (not voice) is absolutely horrid.

The site is kind of crappy, there are a lot of fuck ups. CoCo has Ladie's voice clips and description.

Mursya as Chappi is pretty cool, too.

1. Ein is the Ein we know and love. Yes! More "lDAH" and now we get to hear him talk about rocks!
2. THEY CHANGED HECTOR'S VOICE WTF HOW COULD THEY EVERYONE AGREED THAT HIS VOICE WAS SEXY AND PERFECT
3. Malice is Bridget Hoffman. Or somebody who sounds exactly like her. I know one person like that, but I don't know her name.

I love the voices. Considering the limited budget they'd had to have had for localization of the game, the quality of the voice acting is astounding.

Preorders, here I come. Buying a PSP game? This is a first for me.

The English voices seem bad to me... But I suspect it's just bad quality they have playing on the site since most of the Japanese ones sound far better (to me).

English Graham sounds too young to me though, his Japanese voice sounds better. Ladie's too. And has English Lina ALWAYS sounded like that?

No, she hasn't. And, while Graham's voice sounds too young, and the Japanese is slightly better, Ladie's Japanese voice is not better. It has that quality to it that a lot of the Japanese female voices have that pisses me off, that grating quality; I don't know what it is about it.
