SO LIKE I PLAYED SOME. Started with Lustrous/Cecilia but I'll probably do both. It is nothing special, but I like the equipment/skill system so far. :( Your dudes have four equipment slots each, so they can, uh, equip four weapons. Each weapon has different skills, so that's cool. Ragnafacts will learn new skills when you level up their technique, but others don't learn new skills. You can upgrade the Ragnafacts with FP (which you get from battles and transmuting items into FP), but other weapons can't be upgraded. And the non-Ragnafacts have a limited number of skill uses, so you have to watch out for that too.
And um, as far as actual battles go... There is no "normal attack." Just a bunch of skills (Like Riviera!!). And your skills depend on what weapons you've equipped. So far I haven't seen any that don't take RP (basically, it acts as MP/SP would in other games), so you should probably think about what to use to make the most efficient use of it. Although, HP and RP are both restored when you level up, when you visit a Force Point, and you can use FP to restore your HP, and when you guard you recover a little bit of RP. So it's not as dangerous as I make it out to be. Also, there's a guage (like Riviera!!) that fills up as you hit and get hit, and when it's full you can use Burst attacks or whatever they were called. But Burst attacks can only be used with weapons the character has a Great affinity for.
And there APPEARS to be an elemental chain system thing (think Xenosaga Episode II and/or Chrono Cross) which I don't fully understand yet. Actually, I just don't full understand elements in this game at all yet.
Also, the chapters are called PHASES. Totally a Valkyrie Profile reference. AND THE MAPS IN THIS GAME ARE SO AWESOME THEY TELL ME WHERE TREASURE CHESTS ARE
